Why are there so many religious and conservative people here?

I swear, it's getting worse and worse. I see so much religious, traditional, 1830s values on here from people from middle East, Turkey, etc. Even USA.

I remember this site being more liberal.

My suggestion is try not to over think this. Most people are a mixture of things. I tend to avoid the politics here. I like the sexual freedom this site offers. There was a time when I didn't feel like I belonged here because I have Christian views. But once I got into trouble for merely flirting, although I was just doing what other people were doing on 7cups. I woke up and realized that the sexual freedom of expression on GAG makes me feel more comfortable being here, even though I don't agree with how far some people take it. At least I'm not getting into trouble for just being me.

Ok the actual reason, its reverse O'Sullivan's Law, that is left wing politics HAVE to be shoehorned, imposed and astroturfed into popularity. "Crowds on Demand" (a literal rent-a-mob organization that democrats called a conspiracy a couple years ago) has seen a 400% spike in requests this year. Surely you wouldn't need to PAY people to protest Oranjman if people really hated him that much?

Take away censorship, de-ranking, and shadowbanning, and all things Reddit, and you discover your ideas aren't as popular as you think.

Not being sure whether this concerns specifically this site, what I still know is that religions often offer easy take away answers to existential questions, the more when one considers the evolution of our societies. Instead of having the courage to face reality as it is, many people choose the easy gregarian religious way. Mind that the real deeper philosophy of religions may indeed help in some way. No offence meant to anyone.
