I have what I call 1960s-'70s liberal values. I support civil rights and fairness, open mindedness and tolerance, liberty and freedom. I distrust authority and oppose authoritarianism, imperialism and aggression.
I was never a stick in the mud conservative. I've always been kind of rebellious.
I voted Democrat from 1972 to 1997 but then got disgusted with the party.
In 2013, I wised up and dumped labels and party partisanship all together. I now develop opinions on individual issues and I can modify or change my opinions as more information becomes available. I do lots of research, have good sources, and read books.
I am not influenced by politicians, corporate media or consensus. I am not a sheep and my views do not fit into a nice neat box.
Since I have opinions that differ from ideologues and party loyalists, conservatives often assume that I am liberal and liberals assume that I am conservative. And I don't care what any of them think.
What really is a moderate? Because I would consider my self far left, I go by Marx and his history and views are something I know from my own research not from word of mouth as it seems many others are who've probably never read a single thing he actually wrote.
But as so I disagree with other lefts because currently especially over here in UK all seem to love Islam now which directly contradicts Marx views, which then makes me have to side with conservatives on such issue? Nvm Dei stuff that is actually regressive creating more important on classes if anything? Which ya know isn't what Marx supported.
If I'm the only far left who goes by what that means while no other does, what is that?
Socialist and comunist are not the same. Non maga republicans and democrats are probably closer than socialist and comunists. Also you miss close to half the political spectrum if you put them together. In adition to that you miss maga/fascist as a choice.
What about social democracy?
I do believe that there are moderates but a two party system doesn't support the idea of a middle ground. With parties on both ends getting into the extremes they lost their place to be. Real Conservatist have lost their parties in many countries.
I'm moderate, if for no other reason than both parties are corrupt and awful. But some things I agree with Democrats and some things I agree with Republicans.

Sweden and Denmark still have Moderate parties, but the Swedish moderate party isn't really moderate anymore as they've sort of converged with the far right popukists. Meanwhile the moderate party in Denmark sort of spun off from the far-rught Danish People's Party, and quite recently too.
There might still be propre moderates in the Swedish moderate party, but they're in the minority and theoretically might transition to the centrist party
I used to be a moderate but the democrats got so crazy I became a Republican. It was more that the democart party moved away from me than the other way around.
My ideals are more in line with libertarianism, but i’m all over the board on the issues.
UK here and I'm a socialist. Definitely not a communist. Socialists still believe in free and fair elections.
Democratic Socialist. I vote for Canada's New Democratic Party in our elections.
I'm more conservative, but I don't consider myself MAGA.
Centrist/Independent for ever.
Socialists aren't the same as Communists.
We have become tribal and that is very negative.
Yup I’m moderate
