Is it possible for a podcast to become a worldwide global phenomenon?

I was thinking about this: Could a podcast really reach people of all ages, young and old, across different nations outside of just the US? Like, could it get so big that it becomes mainstream and recognized globally, with people tuning in from China, India, Asia, and everywhere else as well to have live tours with podcast mates held in those countries?

Or even have our own live shows to pack an arena or someplace for people to draw them to become.

In your opinion, how could that be navigated and made possible to happen?

I would say many podcasts already are global.

I listen to many from Australia. The same issues exist in most western countries so a lot of podcasts are universal in nature of the material they cover. I will always go for quality analysis and don't care where it is produced.

Taiwan Talks, France24, DW (Germany), The Times, The Telegraph are all excellent.

Live tours is a bit too retro to be plausible I would think.

High quality knowledgeable people and low production cost is the hallmark. High cost stadium tours would be a waste of time and against the high quality that drives it.

You should look at some of the non-English TED talks that have billions of views.

I don't think that podcast has the same influence like movies or music, or video games.
