Why are men afraid of wars?

In the past, men died in wars. Now, most are afraid. What is the reason for this?

Women vote for congress members, correct? And there are women in congress, correct? And only congress can declare war, correct?

That's true, but also not the point. When was the last time Congress formerly declared war? That would be June 6th, 1942. There was 1 female Senator, and 8 female representatives. My statement was: "there has NEVER been an instance where the women's vote influenced a declaration of war, or sent men to war."

Had none of those females voted, or abstained, it would not changed the vote to declare war. There has also NEVER been an instance since that time where Congress elected to vote to declare war and it failed. Congress now votes on resolutions authorizing the use of military force in certain instances, and the Executive branch has seized some of those powers.

So yes, they vote on the resolutions, but because of their lack of numbers in Congress, no female votes have ever mattered one way or the other when it comes to killing Americans overseas.

Most wars are because of greed when you boil it down to the nitty gritty it's greed at least the wars American has been in men now adays realize the reason for fighting in a war, most of the time is b******* And of course they're afraid to die everybody's afraid to die. You just starting life at 18 years old. And they want to put you in more, and they don't give a f***, they don't buy you a house or your family, a house when you die, when you come back, they don't give you a house, they don't give you nothing. Maybe once a year, a celebration who gives a f*** about that? They should be given thousands and thousands of $, they should be giving a health, they should be giving free Medicare, free everything when you go put your life on the line to protect others and you have bullets whizzing by your head every second. You need to be compensated for that. Mean that come back from war have nothing but bad dreams

It seems rather obvious to me why men, and women by the way, and every person with a little common sense, are afraid of war. Well, that's setting aside greedy fightlusty idiots of course.

Just listen to what people undergoing wars say these days; I mean mostly the plain civilians who have to deal with random bombings, killings, torture, captivity, destructions, loss of homes, uncertainty about any future, etc.

Everything in a war starts with some greedy stupid leader willing to lay hands on some territory with its riches. The means are of course the expendable soldiers and expendable civilians...

I'm particularly afraid of wars because it's then that the real nature of people around us appear in full daylight. The dark side in us leads to horrors.

War is hell and there are no longer any incentives for men to suffer it. In the past, men went to war to either defend their home or for conquest and glory. If their homeland was being invaded, most men would still fight as we saw in Ukraine. In the past, men were motivated to fight abroad by glory (which increases their status) and the opportunity to take women and treasure if they were victorious.

Contrast that with what soldiers get now: a high likelihood that they will be maimed, get PTSD, have their wife or girlfriend cheat on them while they are away, and now they will come back to their country to live on the streets while the people they fought come over and get put into luxury hotels.

Why would any guy sign up for that?

Everyone should be afraid of wars but I think one reason may be is there is no honor in it anymore. There is no "bravery" or "valor" in it anymore. Battles can be done from miles away now by pushing buttons and launching drones and stuff.

You don't need "courage" to push a button like you once did meeting an opponent on a field of battle.

Risk to reward isn't worth it in my opinion. Before, wars gave glory, honour, etc was a way to gain status. Now though there's much easier and safe paths to status. Also, people are less patriotic nowadays as far as I can tell.
