great point, yep, we are grossly sick nation. But it's good for business. healthy people don't have to eat as much junk food, nor spend so much, which impacts disease care, disease innovation. thats a huge chunk of economy.

Other countries have their own issues, Europeans drink to excess and other people smoke a lot, the problem is as Trump has pointed out, America is paying the research costs of medications. We are the only country that doesn't really cap drug costs, the actual cost of the medication doesn't disappear companies whether they are American or otherwise dump it on the consumer.

Then there's health insurance, like any insurance whether it be home, car or health insurance; the more claims put in for that insurance per year the more expensive it will be the next year. Take any country with cheap health insurance, its cheaper because less people use it.
Americans are over prescribed drugs they generally dont need. Often drugs that are prescribed in lower doses or banned outside the us.

Nothing wrong with eating a big mac meal out of McDonald's as that won't cause obesity, what does cause obesity is eating 3 big mac meals in a single sitting at McDonald's washing it down with a litre of cola. This after eating a huge breakfast of waffles or pancakes staked high covered in sugary syrup.
People ate all this stuff in the 80s and werent obese but they ate very small portions

A McDonald's Quarter Pounder with Cheese Meal (medium fries & drink) generally ranges from around 1100 to 1200+ calories. Now imagine you eat 3 of those meals. Now imagine you ate a huge breakfast, a huge lunch, a huge dinner, something before bed and youve been snacking all day.
