Why have people become so anti feminism in recent years?

I have always been a feminist because I believe in equal rights for both sexes, which is all feminism really is. But I have noticed the last few years it seems almost everyone is against feminism, including women. But why? Help me understand what has changed that turned everyone against a movement that only exists to help ensure women have equal rights to men.

This is the lie that they sell to gain people's support, but it has NEVER been the truth, and I can prove it easily.

If anyone actually believed in equal rights for both sexes, then, by definition, they would advocate for both sexes anytime a disparity became known. You cannot truthfully say that you believe in equal rights for both sexes unless you defend the rights of both sexes.

So, what male right has organized Feminism ever advocated for in the last 100 years? I'll wait.

The answer is easy: none. In fact, Feminist leaders - the women who literally dictate which issues the Feminist movement advocates for, which means which issues they present to the media and to society - have repeatedly said that their focus is exclusively on women's rights and they'll never advocate for men. How can you square that with the idea that Feminism is about equality for everyone? You can't.

In fact, there's a term for equality for everyone - it's called Egalitarianism. But Feminists purposely don't use that word, and explicitly don't allow anyone in leadership to use that word, because it's not what they actually believe and so they don't want to supply ammunition that could be used against them in the press.

Feminism has ALWAYS been a female supremacy movement, and that's why you don't see any rejection by feminist leaders when feminists advocate for overt female supremacy. Sure, if confronted, they'll say "oh, that was one individual - we don't advocate for that", but they'll never proactively reach out to those women or make any unsolicited public statement to disavow those ideas - they only do so when they are publicly and loudly called out in the media because some situation that puts them in a negative light got significant attention.

I could give plenty of other examples of terrible behavior from feminists, but this is a good starting point.

The other thing is: what areas do you think require further "equality" for women in western society? What can't you do that men can do because of societal structures rather than because of biological differences? And, again, I'm strictly talking about western societies. We're all aware of places on the planet where women lack rights, but I'm equally aware that organized Feminism does not care about those women, and does almost zero advocacy for them - organized Feminism only concerns itself with western society.

Your first sentence is incorrect, that is why we are against it.
We aren't against equals rights for both genders (within reason, we wouldn't want men to claim they have a right to go in the women's bathroom for example).

What we are against is the destruction of male rights. For example feminists love introducing discrimination against men, for example by implementing gender quota's. That kind of stuff has to go.

Its not a movement for equality at all, its a sexist women's interest movement and I am against it for that reason. If you actually care about true equality thats cool, but then don't call yourself a feminist just say you want equality.

I can actually go a step further and be controversial a bit, I don't believe in radical equality either. I don't think anyone does, but nobody expresses it this way. I believe that we should strive to give people equal rights under the law and fair merit based opportunities.

For me the best way to solve that kind of issue is to apply relevant criteria for the job. For example you should absolutely be able to be hired based on your gender and appearance when you are going to be a bikini model. I don't think there is anyone who would find it unfair if a fat guy who wants to wear the bikini on his man boobs gets rejected over a sexy girl. But at the same time if both qualify for the office position where they are just some 3rd floor office worker that criteria shouldn't be a factor.

So no discriminatory quota's saying that someone should be hired for such a position due to a lack of others of their background working there, pure merit. And that's exactly what feminism doesn't want.

Feminism per definition is good. However current type of feminism is just toxic. Current feminism exploits founding ideals of feminism while creating its own ideology of supremacy, it's used to manipulate people to different left leaning ideologies like "refugee welcome" crap and current feminism is often exploited to use subversive ideas which after looking deeper into it are destructive for women and society. Of course when you oppose as example 'deprivation of rights of fathers to paternity tests' you will hear from militant feminists, "oh you're against equal wages or abortions...". The schoolbook extremist behavior of black and white thinking like "you're with us and you eat all the sh*t that comes from our behind or you're our our enemy."

You can imagine why this type of self destructive feminism isn't liked very much even among women who have two healthy brain cells.

I think it depends on where you look, and I think the anti-femiinst era peaked back in 2016.

I'm a feminist too, but you can't ignore how some people wearing the label of feminism are scam artists or anti fun prudes. Like just recently you had a bunch of games getting removed from steam. They shame men for liking what they like and then they bully women into behaving the way they think we should act.

At no time in the entire history of the movement has any prominent feminist or feminist organization fought for women to have the same sacrifices, responsibilities and accountability as men.

Women have always had equal rights.

They have fought to be promiscuous tramps, get divorces like crazy, avoid all accountability, throw out at fault divorce so they can leave over anything but still keep tapping the income of who they chose to leave, no one has kids anymore.

Many women are ran through, bitter, baggage carrying, anxiety ridden shells at 30 expecting men to be chivalrous and still follow THEIR gender roles while they go out clubbing, dressing like at a tramp, traveling with male co-workers for work, get tattoos and piercings with 25 men in their sexual past. The problem is that what we call feminism is part of a much larger system of cultural Marxism. In reality it's just pandering to women and minorities for political power. It's easy to do because the traditional system doesn't offer women anything beyond being a bioreactor producing children one after the other like you see in Islam. If you take a step further back I think ultimately the whole thing isn't political but something much larger, I think we are witnessing evolution it's self in action.

The way I see it, social media gave a lot of space for any people about any cause to regroup. Feminists regrouped. As they established more online presence, another opposing force regrouped as well, a reactionary one. Reaction-ary. They're reacting to feminism, they have different names, redpill, masculinism, manosphere and probably other names as well. Like feminism emerged in reaction to society, manospehere has a societal role to play.

I'm sure the comments here are going to show you that manosphere does not conceive feminism the way you do. Because the definition you're using is not theirs.

Can you take a step back, look objectively at what feminism is today, and honestly not see why the vast majority of adults don't support it anymore?

Most women who identify as feminists today love to point at the bad behavior of other feminists and claim they are misandrists, not real feminists. Wrong; they ARE real feminists, just bad ones. Feminism is as feminism does.

If feminism wants to save itself from obscurity, it needs to find some honesty and take responsibility for the bad shit feminists have been doing. They have thus far been unwilling to do that, which has led to the current image of feminism being in the toilet.
