I was watching old episodes of Storm Stories from the 2000s (I used to love that show as a kid, especially tornado ones), and learned about people dying during that time.

But if you can recall about those times, especially the early 2000s, it was kind of an extension of the 90s. You think of adult women wearing those fluffy sweat jackets or corduroy jackets, the hair styles like those bob cuts or the curls left over from the 80s, and the jean skirts. You think of walking into department stores or Walmart with those linoleum white tiles with the lines to mark the isles. You think of the old people with those big frame glasses. You think of churches with the wooden benches, the choir wearing those robes, and the classrooms having that thin blue hard carpet with those old vibratone fire alarms recessed into the cinder block walls. You think of the old big ass tape player at church with the old wooden piano in the rooms. You think of gym class having those rubber-like floors with the mini scooter things and the parachute activity where you fluff it up and try to run under it as fast as you can.
Then you think, damn, the people who have died back then, especially those elderly, have no idea what a shithole we have transformed to. They have no recollection of touch interface smartphones. They have no idea about the 2008 market crash/great recession and the moral decline and economical struggles afterwards. They don't have to remember the Obummer era with the Woke PC garbage and the race card being weaponized. They don't know about the blue haired horseshoe nose ring girls and the idiots rioting and burning down buildings. They don't know about how Bill Gates became a scumbag and all the celebrities on Epsteins island doing all these heneous things. They don't know that our whole childhood culture became a lie finding out the cast of Drake and Josh and Amanda Bynes were sexually abused by the producer.

I think about it a lot, our child hood world was a lie, the TV news all of it.
Yeah it feels everything was a diabolical lie. And then we have AI and the collapse of human need to finish everything off like an icing on the cake. It disgusts me.
Not really. I doubt Jefferson would have wanted to use a autopen. 2pac would've been like fuck Alexa! Hell even Steve Jobs would see Apple now and say either shoot me in the head or somewhere else that will lead to my redeath very soon.
The world was pretty screwed up in the 90s.
Maybe so, but I was born in the mid 90s, so I can only remember the late 90s barely. Still, the 2000s seemed utopian in many ways compared to now.
