Is making kids ruck 5 miles an acceptable form of discipline?

I would be very hesitant to impose a punishment like that. I would need to know that I was dealing with kids who had that level of fitness, I would need them to have seen me ruck 5 miles so they know I'm not asking anything of them that I don't ask of myself, and I would need to have safeguards in place to make sure the test was pushing them without being in danger of hurting them.

making kids run* 5 miles is NOT an acceptable form of discipline. INSTEAD take away some of their toys or video games. Change the password for home internet! tell them they will get it back in a few days if they act better.

Unless they have some health issues that prevent it, sure. It'll be good for them to get some exercise. If they can't make it five miles, that's even more reason to do it.

It depends on how old they are, the difficulty of the ruck and it is important to make sure they are hydrated and not in any physical danger. But it could be seen as abuse also
