Why would I trust a computer to drive when I have already perfected the art of navigating Moscow in a Lada with no brakes and three shots of vodka? Stick to the kitchen, lady, robots are for failing Western empires. ㅤ
People that are against it are against progress in society. The truth is, self driving cars have a much lower chance of causing accidents on the road and when they do get into an accident, there's much less of a chance of injury. And then if there even is an accident, the fault lies with the companies programming and not with a driver. It takes drunk drivers and reckless drivers out of the equation too.
I only see it as a good thing. I've seen some crazy accidents footage and have even been in a couple myself. And it's scary to know your life can end by some stupid person on the road in an instant at any time.
In the future, driving will be more of a recreational activity and there will likely be designated zones for it. Self driven vehicles are better and will be the main means of commuting anywhere.
I’ve seen too many accidents from them and too many flaws from systems led by AI to the point my only thought is, kill all AI and we’d be better off than with it.
One exception, offline bots. It always you (the consumer) after the servers of a beloved game are offline forever and there might not be a promise of fan made and fan upheld networks to continue to play till the end of time. You can argue it won’t be the same, but hey at least its a product that still works as intended and you don’t feel like you were a fool for paying top dollar for a multiplayer game that’s no longer in service. Options people, options!
No. There have altready been situations where several of these cars blocked an intersection and none showed sufficient 'intelligence' to back up, as they're wired to always be right. Another 'experiment' on a closed circuit locked the cars' doors. The only way to stop that vehicle was having it deplete its batteries and run out of energy.
I have no knowledge of the safety protocols being built into self driving cars. So my only advice is for the manufacturers and operators of these automatons to load up on liability insurance and legal counsel. What can go wrong?
Still to early for me to trust them but if its a taxi then on principle I don't mind. Its when jts my personal car and driving manually it not possible, has remote shutdown abilities, tracking, etc that I don't want that car.
I always imagine shit going down and me needing the car to flee. If it lets me do that it is a car. If it doesn't let me do that its not something I actually own.
I have a self driving car and just took a 600 miles trip yesterday. I drove some, my wife drive some and so did the Tesla. I was nodding off and it drove which was scary for unknowingly nodding off for seconds at a time and helpful that the Tesla just kept moving as usual.
I think the self driving itself isn't an issue. The issue comes from the greater dependency to the manufacturer. Like I see them slowly edging us out of car ownership by slowly making more and more functions of the car subscription based untill eventually we can do basically nothing with a car unless we pay our monthly fee.
Also another mechanism is: you know how your phone is gonna be useless in a few years cause the company won't support it anymore so eventually everything will stop working. I think that's also gonna become a trend in cars.
it depends. i have seen horrible things computers do. glitches and bugs and misunderstandings, but if it is tesla with radar, i trust it more than a human driver.
looking at london as you asked in one year one city! '20,989 reported collisions, 110 killed, 3,597 seriously injured" they need more computer driven vehicles.
I hate the idea and wouldn't use one. I wouldn't trust one for a number of reasons and I hate the idea of replacing people with machines. I prefer dealing with humans, not stupid AI.

I'm not sure I would like that very much. I don't like the idea of trusting my life to a machine that may or may not be able to think clearly and act appropriately in difficult situations.

That it takes you for a wild spin and keeps you prisoner? Lol!

The thought of any moving vehicle with no driver makes me feel sick inside. A disaster waiting to happen and hurt and kill innocent people.
I was reading the other day that someone saw an 18 wheeler going with the traffic with no driver. 🙄
Who would have ever thought? 🤷🏼♀️🤔

Stupid. There are 122,000 cab drivers in London.
Hate, loathe, disgust. Just wait until the first one is hacked and used as a weapon. Then smart countries will ban them.

The concept of a self-driving vehicle doesn't bother me.
How it was implemented does.
Thus, I don't trust them at all.
Not yet. I like driving myself so I'm not into this at all.
I won't use them, I only unwillingly had an human Uber booked for me once
I like them, because I don't have a drivers licence :P
Chop shop here we go...
I think it is a good idea
Nah, no need. I'd rather walk.
Worried.
They suck
