By recent standards, yes.
Here’s one major problem: the POTUS is the Commander in Chief of the US military. But we’ve gotten all too comfortable with allowing our president to have ZERO service under his belt. We have even elected draft dodgers!
Furthermore, an official declaration of war has to go through Congress, and very few of them are military veterans.
Even now that ours is primarily a “volunteer” military recruiting system, women make up only about 18% of the military and only a fraction of them have seen combat. Obviously no woman has ever been drafted and none are subject to the draft when the next one comes.
So why should women have the same rights and privileges when they don’t have the same responsibilities and sacrifices? The idea that there would be no war if women ruled the world has been debunked. Historically, queens were significantly more likely than kings to start conflicts rather than resort to diplomacy. Furthermore, queens were more likely to maintain conflict in the face of diplomatic options. One theory suggests that is because queens have nothing to lose in war. Even kings had to ride onto the battlefield with their armies. Queens stayed behind, safe and comfortable in their castles and reaped the rewards without ever risking anything.
We have an entire system filled with women who have never even had to think about military conscription and men who avoided it at all costs, sending working class kids into wars that the majority of citizens oppose at least partly.
Until women are subjected to the draft and represent at least 50% of enlisted troops, no woman should be Commander in Chief. In fact, i don’t think anyone who has never seen combat should even be eligible to be POTUS. Part of the reason our nation is overly eager to remain in military conflicts is that decision is being made by people who have no concept of the horrors of war, but sit back and count the money. Just like the queens of old.

Can be? Yes. I think Tulsi Gabbard would make a great president.

However, I have been starting to rethink the position where sex has no effect on one's ability to rule. I definitely think there are masculine and feminine styles to ruling and I don't think the feminine style of ruling is a good idea.

It essentially boils down to a mother parenting kids or an elementary school teacher conducting a class. Mothers tend to take a risk averse approach with kids and ensure everything is "bubble wrapped" to make sure no one gets hurt (making sure trans people are not misgendered). Teachers often use collective punishment (gun laws due to some people misusing them).

But the problem is that this is a terrible strategy when leading a country full of people of all age groups. Mass infantilization comes with serious consequences. The people will hate it at first but once it sets in, they will eventually break down, become more dependent on the state and more easily controlled.

I'd argue that this in itself is a form of tyranny but say a Hitler like figure suddenly shows up and takes power. What is everyone do about it? Nothing. Their spirit is so broken and are so used to the state wiping their ass for them that they have no choice but to submit.

I will be pissing off way more people by saying this but this is what Europe and the UK is going through right now. They have declared AC to be a threat somehow and people are just shrugging it off.

Let's put it this way; can a man be capable of being a good president? Yes, and Trump is an example of one who is NOT a good president.

Believe it or not, women are intelligent and capable of being great leaders in government. Look at the political leaders from Australia, all women; look at the Prime minister of Japan, and the past Prime ministers of England, India's Indira Gandhi. These all exemplify people who are for the country and people--and not for themselves or their riches. The only people who don't think that women would be capable of b being president and leading the country, are people like Trump, who are basically misogynistic.

Plenty of countries have had women in the executive office. I don't see why a women couldn't screw up the country any less than the last few nimrods.

I'm never going to vote for someone just because they are a woman. Being female doesn't make them more or less qualified. It's as relevant to the job as whether they are right- or left-handed. I hope we get a strong women candidate soon, if for no other reason to get all the grumpy old conservative mad XP

Obviously, if speaking for US though it ain't happening anytime soon considering lefts seem to be the only ones pushing for a woman and their choices are to find the most unlikeable women to ever exist. (Honestly won't shock me if the 1st woman president is a republican and see the lefts try to undermine her as a pick me wondering why she is not left... as if women aren't allowed to be right winged.)

What difference does having a different set of plumbing have to do with being able to run the country? I've had male bass players in my band and female bass players and, so far, except for the last one we had, all the girls played just as well as all the guys! Their cunts and tits DID NOT keep them from being able to play well! With the last one, the ONLY thing that kept her from playing well was her piss-poor attitude about playing well!! Can yes. Has it happened no. Would take a special kind of women though, most are to easily manipulated and to disintetested in politics to pull it off. So her being in politics in general is already increasing the chances and if she then isn't fooled by emotional manipulation and she's actually for the people we'd have a winner.

That said diplomatically it is a downside when dealing with countries that do not respect women.
