I would back a woman president if she was a leader another follower if she was a true president and not a true big mouth like I said it has to be one of the most hardest jobs ever and now since everybody walks around and acts like Trump it's kind of degrading to all Americans like I said it's an un thankful job I truly hope someday there is a woman president but not right now it's the wrong time because all the little trumpsters would have a field day with her and it would show that Americans are more split than ever there's a lot of things that have to be tackled first like Mental Health people on this planet especially in America should not have children they cannot raise them or put the time and energy into having a child in it takes to raise them look what's going on right now our children are going to be last very last in education because of this covid-19 is this another manipulation I guarantee you china-japan other countries their children are going to school they probably doubled up on teaching them but anyway yes one of these days I hope there is a woman president00 Reply

Not American. I think a country should seek to have the most qualified leader who puts the people's welfare first. I see the US entering an era of diversity quotas over meritocracy and reason. I think it would be a disaster if Americans chose a president just to meet a diversity quota.
A president, whether female, black, Asian, Gay, etc. should be president because they are a capable and qualified leader who just happens to be a woman/Black/Asian/Gay etc., and not President because they are one or more of these (or other) things that it would be nice to have represented.00 Reply

I don't think the president needs to be discriminating, unfair, selfish, egotistical, and cruel to the people he rules over. Gender does not matter. It's the kind of person with much intelligence, personality and sense, that matters.

Unfortunately, gender identity (as well as sex) does matter in this country.
We've had 59 USA Presidential Elections, and we've still never had a female president. That's not a coincidence.

@EnglishArtsteacher The fact that there has never been a female president ever in over 230 years--does not matter to me in terms of who will do a good job--I don't care if the person is white, black, yellow, purple, male, or female--it's the kind of person doing the job that matters to me, and not a gender. That there has never been a female president is a sign of the kind of country we live in--ruled mostly by mean--and that is shameful as well--but that is a whole other issue altogether.
- +1 y
@EnglishArtsteacher I don’t really care about gender. It’s the qualifications and sensibility, along with a loyalty to our country that I feel would be important for consideration into the presidency. As for there not being a woman president in over the last 230 years, that’s a whole new issue altogether and is a symptom of one of the weaknesses of the country itself. Inequality between the genders here is a shameful and serious problem. But that has nothing to do with whom I would consider a great president.

But Americans tend not to like putting women in positions of power. They find ways to degrade their character and justify not putting women into office.00 Reply

Tulsi Gabbard? Definitely.

I voted for Tulsi in the primary... only one I know of I'd pick, there may be others.
I couldnt' stand hillary.
Geraldine F. (VP)... didn't know her well enough.
Kamala... send her back now, not qualified. stupid.00 Reply 1.7K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Not if it's just for the sake of having a female president. I would only support a conservative for president. Someone with a deep track record too. 99.99998% of women never even put in half of the work it takes to seriously be a candidate. They didn't think it was important to do that.

+1 yYes, I do.
That doesn't mean I think any eligible woman should be the President of the United States of America, but we should have a female president some time in the future. It's ridiculous that we have had 59 Presidential Elections, and still haven't elected one woman, despite the fact women make up a majority of the population.
We've seen men run this country into the ground, so why not give women a chance?00 Reply- 5.7K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
+1 yNot inherently, no; there's nothing about being a woman that makes you better able to lead, or to protect the country from Congress (which is the President's real function). I have no problem with the idea of a female President, though, and I'm all about meritocracy. Heck, I voted for Tulsi Gabbard in the primaries.
00 Reply 1.5K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. If you want them just for the sake of having a woman president then you are sexist and ignorant. It is like how Biden is showing his racism and sexism by having the primary qualifier for a Supreme Court justice be a Black woman. All men are automatically disqualified based on their gender, and all Whites, Hispanics, and Asians are disqualified outright because of their race. It is sexism and racism.

+1 yI am moderate conservative and I will vote for a woman any day just as long as her policies align to what I believe in.
But don’t put a woman in office for sake of “equality”. Biden already did that by giving his number one qualification as a running mate to be a “minority woman” i. e. Kamala Harris and she sucks! She has even lower approval rating than Biden which is quite impressive given almost no one likes Biden.10 Reply
Anonymous(30-35)+1 yNot off the basis of being a female.
The first female president should be elected for being the best option, not just because vagina. It's part of the reason why Clinton lost the bid multiple times, her campaign was solely centered around "I have a vagina, vote for me"28 Reply- +1 y
That's false.
1) Hillary Clinton only ran for President once.
2) Hillary Clinton won the popular vote; she lost the electoral vote. In other words, more people wanted her to be President than Trump.
3) She was qualified to be President, vagina or not, and vastly more qualified than Trump. She had the background in law and politics and foreign affairs sufficient to be a very good president.
4) Her negatives were that she came across as overly assertive during the first Clinton Administration (1993-1997), Benghazi (which was bullshit), and "the damn emails" (yet no one in the GOP is concerned about Trump's illegal destruction or removal of records from The White House). Although, perhaps worst of all were the Democratic establishment (and liberal media) themselves. So sure of her victory, yet wanting to do anything to assure that, they actually alienated independents who liked the brash confidence of Trump in the "flyover states". But, her having a vagina was only a negative among voters who thought the only reason she was running or being supported was because she had a vagina. Thinking Americans voted for her because they knew her and that she was effective.

I vote according to who is best for the job and will do it well!! Although, with all the election fraud we just saw last time, your vote doesn't even matter anymore. It's just an illusion!
00 Reply I just want the best for the job, and at this point I'm convinced that's never gonna happen as long as we're in a2 party system. Left and right have given mostly trash candidates, can't take responsibility for themselves and would rather see the country torn in two than to make a compromise. It's like the federal government is more concerned with being the next springer or maury than actual being government.
10 ReplyI'm more concerned about a prospective president's knowledge of the job, and their competency to do the job.

10 Reply If they are qualified for the job, yes. Gender matters less to me than the qualifications and abilities. It’s a job, I don’t want certain people in the job, but not because of gender or race or sexual preference or whatever. The problem is, every single time a woman comes close to being in power, the people in this country claim "But not this woman...", which is implicit Sexism. - +1 y
@EnglishArtsteacher is it implicit sexism, or is it that the female in question is terrible? Example: Hillary Clinton
- +1 y
It's implicit sexism.
We've elected plenty of "terrible" men for president of this country. Therefore, being "terrible" doesn't prevent someone from being elected; their sex, and often times their race does. - +1 y
