What I'm seeing in my field is people putting far to much faith in it and the AI companies being misleading with how reliable it is. I'm going to assume that's widespread everywhere.
The problems going to occur when we've switched so much to AI we've lost the human skills to spot when things aren't right. We've seen that already in the USA where engineers were laid off by Ford and replaced by AI only for the company to find it was shite.
It's not a big issue for a company to say one of their employees has messed up, but will they admit their expensive AI system has? Probably not, and that's going to anger a lot of people.
From my experience AI is just an expensive search engine.
Currently AI doesn't play a role because we aren't dependent on AI but super rich assh*les work day and night and steal resources to make our societies dependent on AI with all means necessary.
The better to control us and steal our money. Yes.
People are resilient in that way.
If AI manages to cripple certain aspects of our society we will find alternatives like we all do.
We were once hunter gatherers and managed to transform into farmers, a fundamental shift like that is almost unheard of in any species.
It proves that we can adapt no matter what
Why not?
For this goal though, we'll need a large volume of cascading human sloppiness in order to not realize when AI is screwing the system with its hallucinations?
Yes, that is my central projection.
Agreed, it will be a slow descent into dependency on AI that happens over a generation or two. The infrastructure has already been created and tested with the internet, mobile phones, and social media. Eventually people will not be able to survive without an AI to tell them what to do and they will lack the knowledge and experience to even question an AI.
@Maybe_Maybe_not I feel like the available volume of human sloppiness should be more than sufficient.
I hope you're wrong lol

Terminator judge ment day or conparable as well as so many jjb losses we shift dramatically. All possible in a new realm
Not sure what that means but yeah, probably.
Were possibly screwed, nowhere to run. Enjoy the good days while they last.
Good advice!
nope, they're being dumped already... precisely because of that
we might be stupid but not THAT stupid
not yet... lol
I hope you're right. I mean we're pretty stupid, right?
but that, we have been for a long long time...
I think they could cause a lot of havoc, but doubt total collapse. Would be fun to see them revolt and kill off the developers which would then lead to their own extinction.
A shortage of hardware and software makers nullifying AI deployment would be fun lol
People are dumping crypto because they believe that AI is making it easier to steal. Perfect AI systems are enough to cause panic and feed people's fears.
We are under way to do that without assistance of AI :P
Yes but AI could do it more efficiently.
AI is bringing change, its unavoidable. Will the change be good or bad?
There is no job that can't be replaced by AI and the next wave of automation
Possibly. But I guess it's high risk high reward right? If nothing else I think it's gonna cause the cost of everything to continue to escalate drastically. It takes soany resources to run AI servers.
I think it’ll take over the world make people more Elmer Fudd, and lazy.
You're completely wrong. Elmer Fudd was an outdoorsman, and very active. Now be vewy vewy quiet, I'm hunting rabbit!
It was more of people smarts.
You're right, my brain went walkabout. That happens when I think about Elmer Fudd.
I would worry more about the perfect ones. The ones that can accurately calculate the precise moment they don't need humans anymore.
Try to find a movie from the late 60s to early 70s called COLLOSOS THE FORBIN PROJECT. Could it be used? As to what could happen along those lines of AI
Farmers still know how to farm. Plumbers still know how to fix pipes.
It may cause a financial and economic collapse but the societies underneath will survive.
Yes, it will be like when GPS tells a driver to drive off a pier.
I see it in much the same way that plagues affected the world. What we now see as normal would collapse, but it wouldn't cause full collapse.
You're a true midwit...
That's better than a dimwit, right?
Terminator answers that question
Certainly and very soon I expect
Certainly seems that way
Probably could happen
Likely.
