It's media marketing that glorifies this K-pop stuff. Personally I don't like it, because music is poor and lyrics isn't really deep.
However if someone likes it, their preference their business.

I mean it depends. Some people just follow trends just for the sake of following trends meanwhile other people do genuinely like that stuff.
