I mean, people here seem to love being ruled by authoritarian leaders. They don't wanna think for themselves, they want some guy making every decision for them, spending their tax money and acting like he's doing them a favor. From Ottoman sultans to Atatürk and now Erdoğan, it's always the same obsession with strong leaders. Democracy and freedom of speech? Who cares, apparently

And some genuinely think Hitler is cool, lol.

Antisemitism is another reason. I've seen numbers as high as 92% here. I honestly can't remember meeting many Turks who actually like Jews, and the amount of conspiracy theories about them is insane.

So yeah, there are definitely people here who are proud of that stuff too

Probably a few reasons. Turks are mainly muslim, and dont like jews. They had significant economic trade with the nazis, provided logistical help to nazis and had a formal friendship treaty with the nazis.
