A lot of people been mean to me in my life. I have moved on but I don't forgive.

I tried to teach my sisters that lesson. But they could never let go for their own sake. They waited in vain for an apology from their parents that never came. Every conversation turned back to their grievances within 5 minutes.

Me? I said fuck this and let it go when I was about 20. I moved on down the road of life. It wasn’t forgiveness. It was being done with the dysfunction.

Yes, and I think people sometimes confuse healing with forgiveness. You can move on, find peace, and stop allowing someone to affect your life without forgiving what they did. For me, moving on means choosing not to carry the situation into my future, but forgiveness is a separate, personal decision. You can wish someone well from a distance and still decide they no longer deserve access to you. ❤️

Not everyone notices that mean people can be unwillingly mean. You should still move on from them. And "forgiving" is not something you do, it just happens on its own if there is a reason for it to happen, for example if you discover that from their perspective it wasn't that mean.
