Why would someone NOT have ANY pictures with their Boyfriend or Girlfriend in a Facebook profile?

Nope. My girlfriend has a brother and a cousin that she'll take pictures with here and there and post as her profile picture, and she's got guy friends she's posted pictures of herself with (as profile pictures). I've done the same with both relatives and female friends.

I certainly hope people aren't out there thinking that we're out screwing all these different people. That would be sort of awkward.

Either they are dating, or are related (brother, cousin). I have asked myself this question a couple of times before, because I would see a profile picture with a guy and girl, but no relationship status. After some digging or words from friends I did find out they were dating and in some rare cases they were related.

- Okay, so I actually meant to say 'in a relationship'. With dating it's more like you're going on dates, perhaps still not mutually exclusive, and it's not yet official yet.

- I don't like posting photos of myself on the internet, and on my fb I only have one profile picture and try to limit the amount of tags. I just don't like to be out there that much as opposed to many other people. If I were to be in a relationship I don't think I would post photos of her or us together.

No never assume anything. I have puctures(not on Facebook) with friends, brothers, cousins, random people I met on a night out, friends & family's boyfriends/husbands etc, they could be anyone

If you are NOT officially bf/gf, what does that mean? if you decide to see other ppl, don't you still need to "break up" with the other person?

The US dating scene is completely different than where I'm from but there are some similarities. You can be seeing someone but not have discussed or reached the point where you are officially an item. You don't call each other boyfriend/girlfriend, you don't introduce them as your boyfriend, you are still open to the possibility of someone else coming along. You don't technically break up but its just basic manners to say that you don't see it going any further and should go your desperate ways

Nope. People take pictures with their friends, with their ex's, family, random strangers they met in a bar who seems cool at the time, etc.

Heh, people do all kinds of things. It's best not to assume that the two people are together. You never know the circumstances of the picture until that person tells you the story behind the photo.

I don't think it's safe to assume that, even if the people in the photo are both single and all. I mean what would stop somebody taking that kind of friend-friend photo?

I haven't a picture of that kind on FB but if she was OK with it I'd post a 1-1 picture of just friend-friend.
