After the patron saint, George Floyd, was murdered in Minneapolis, Lori Lightfoot (mayor of Chicago) proposed cutting the police budget by $80 million in her city.
Two days ago, during a routine traffic stop in Chicago, two police officers were shot by some worthless scum bag.

Officer Ella French dies at the scene, and her partner is fighting for his life in a Chicago hospital.

The officer in the hospital had his family there, as well as a couple hundred police officers showing their solidarity to their wounded teammate. So, Lori thinks she will make an appearance at the hospital to save-face for the scum she is, but all the officers turn their backs to her.

Lori didn't like this so in an interview, she tells the press that this is not a time to "spew hatred."

Hatred was awesome when Lori was spewing it, but when it's her job and ass on the line, it's not a good thing to do.

Texas Gov. Gregg Abbot (R) created a law that Texas schools could not enforce mask wearing. Any school that defied Gov. Abbot's order would be punished. Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins (R) then sued Texas Gov. Greg Abbott over the mask mandate ban and now schools can require students and teachers to wear masks. Texas school districts then immediately sent out notices requiring masks in schools.

Texas has the second highest number of COVID patients in the United States and the Texas school year has just started this week. Dallas County has only two available ICU beds in more than 170 hospitals. The COVID Delta variant affects children more than the Alpha and children under twelve cannot be vaccinated.

Should schools have the right to choose mask requirements for their kids and staff?

I vaguely remember an expression from long ago now, from early 2020, the months March to June or July. How did it go again? Oh yes - "flattening the curve". We were told that all we had to do was put up with a little inconvenience for a couple of months (at most), in order to ensure our hospitals weren't overwhelmed, and our doctors and nurses over-worked. Then it would ALL be over! Yay!
Well, we did it. Didn't we? It's now August of 2021. What's taking so long? Helloooo... ? When will we be released from home detention, when will we be able to live our lives again? Never? Is this the "new normal" now? Are these stupid questions?

No, well I don't know, leaning more towards no though. Literally no one has any proof at all so, yeah.
