When you were a kid, were you ever selected for a competitive sporting team?

I was selected for my school soccer and rugby teams. I was kind of a wildcard to the soccer team but from the rugby team I was scouted for regional and then state championship teams.

If there is one thing I agree on about woke participation awards and stuff, it is that everyone should get a go. I felt sorry for the kids who didn’t get selected. That was a lot of kids too because the school teams literally had the number of players which could field a team and that was it out of a form of about 400 kids. Plus we got to have camps and trips away for tournaments which got us out of class and in some cases even gave us exemptions for assignments and exams.

I have several in my case. Main thing is that I was really fast on my feet and could jump really long and high. So I got selected for track and recruited as a running back on my high school football team.

The main thing and where I focused most of my passion was that I became a sponsored vert skater for Warehouse Skateboards in Wilmington, NC. I wasn't a pro but they supplied me with all kinds of gear in exchange for representing the brand and participating in skate events and tournaments.

Not really but one teacher wanted me to do track because I was able to continue the mile jogging nonstop on the track for the gym tests
