People with smartphones: Do you close out of your apps after using them (swipe up and out of them) or leave them running in the background?

Just wondering what others do. Like after you use an app, do you swipe up and close it out? Or do you just swipe it away/go to the main screen and leave it running in the background?

I’m surprised by how many people close them because that actually takes more of the battery life

I'm a bit paranoid if an app running in the background is draining battery, or worse... mobile data.

So I always close them as much as possible.

It suspends the app rather than closes it. Either way, saves you battery life.

Unless it's something I need to quickly access, or check later, I usually close them to keep the battery from draining faster.

Why would you think that closing programs costs battery? Sounds like you don't really understand how electronics work.

I work with electronics. It takes more to close and reopen programs than to leave them; they are meant to be left open. If you search on google it explains it better.
