Is it possible for someone to watch you through your webcam?

I'm literally panicking and crying and shaking rn because normally I have my computer webcam covered with tape but I had to take it off for a web meeting and my camera needed to be on. So I showered and changed into my room with my laptop facing me. Now my sub concise was that something was over my camera, and when I looked up it wasn't. Now, I know that if the light is on next to the webcam, that means it's on but it wasn't on. I looked online everywhere to see if anyone can spy on me through my webcam. Some were sying about a green led light and I saw one and now I'm crying. I'm so terrified, can this happen?

you're fine. Unless you go around downloading any. exe you come across there's not really any way for your laptop to have 'hackers'.

If you're really anxious about it you can run system file checker to repair corrupted/missing files and download a well-known anti-virus. Though just running the windows full scan is enough (unless you're out here downloading things from tor sites lol)

I have run a Microsoft virus scanner that I thought came with the new Windows ten update and everything is fine no virus detect.

Yes, hackers can do that, but if you have virus protection, that will stop 99% of it for you.

Yes, keep tape or some sort of covering over the camera lens when it's not in legitimate use.

While it's possible, it's "extremely" unlikely. Do you know how many webcams there are in the world? Do you think someone's watching all of them? Nah, you'll be fine. Heck, I don't even cover mine. What's gonna happen? Someone get jealous over the size of my dick and cry about it? Who cares 😂

Yes it can happen and does. But did it happen in your case? Probably not.

Run an antivirus check to see if anything is installed and check your router logs for any rogue connections.

Unless you downloaded some kind of virus or malware that is specifically designed to back door your machine and make it so they can use your web cam. No. Stop buying into the paranoia..
