How often do you have problems with buying gaming consoles?

Just bought an Xbox series S. It's my first console ever. The power cable it came with doesn't work. My TV cable works and it turns on. But then obviously I can't power my TV.

Great! How often does crap like this happen? This is my first console! This is BS and I'm passed I have to bring it back to the store tomorrow and hope they're going to give me a new cable.

That's unfortunate. If you bring it back, and demonstrate that the power cable doesn't work, they should give you another- but before you do, make sure that's the problem.

In this case, there are three points of failure: the console itself, the cable, and the outlet. If the console works with the TV's cable, then it's not the console. So the next thing to do (if you haven't already) is to take the TV's cable and plug it into the outlet you plugged the console cable in- you know the TV and the cable both work, so check if the outlet is the problem. If it works, then it is indeed the cable.

Isolating the problem will make fixing it MUCH faster.

I wonder if they have cables like that just lying around lol. Im sure they wouldn't make me pay for it.

I'm just sad cuz I have a long day at work tomorrow then I have to take the bus to the store which adds 2 hours to my day.

And there isn't even a different store that I know of that sells the cable nearby.

Is there anyone nearby- maybe even at work- who has a cable of the same type that you could borrow, letting you put it off for a few days until a better time? I don't know what kind modern consoles use, but if the TV does, too, it's probably a pretty standard design.

The fuse has probably gone on the plug, change it and move on. It's not that fucking hard. Even something with your intelligence could have figured that out instead of fucking around with cables.

Shit happens in electronics, it's why guys like me make money from fools like you. You would rather waste 10 bucks of fuel to bitch at a store. Than spend a few cents to change a fuse or cable.
