Difference between 1.1.1.1 and Warp?

When I entered 1.1.1.1 into Brave browser on my Samsung Galaxy A34 5G, it prompted me to install some app from CloudFlare. I did it and apparently I'm given access to a free VPN on top of custom DNS provider thingie from that company. Of course, they offer a premium VPN but I'm too cheap to pay for that shit. So will this really allow me to bypass blocking restrictions from private ISPs like those at Walmart and Home Depot or it's not actually a VPN? In my phone settings, it's clearly recognized and configured as a VPN by the app. Sadly I'm unable to use the Perplexity app while the Cloudflare VPN is enabled, and even switching to just their custom DNS doesn't work either.

1.1.1.1 is just a DNS resolver that makes your browsing faster and more private. WARP is Cloudflare's VPN service built on top of it, which actually encrypts your traffic and masks your IP address.

By the way, as a last resort. If your goal is to bypass restrictions. You can ask a relative in another country to set up a VPN n their router that you connect to.

There are several free VPNs that are reasonably reliable. One of the better ones is Tunnelbear. I steer clear of Cloudflare.
