I got used to digital.
It’s simpler to use it in an email, or a presentation, or anything else
I get that many people are used to pen and paper but I chose not to develop that habit
During my job interview I sat there without anything and afterwards the interviewer remarked that I took 0 notes
When asked about it I started reciting the interview from memory so they understood that it’s not a lack of interest10 Reply

4 moAll my notes are in Google Keep and Google Docs, so digital.
All the people who romanticize taking notes by pen and paper are falling behind the times. Digitally is much easier to organize and much faster to type out or use your voice to type rather than writing things out. And you have it all on one device. Not a hundred different notebooks for different purposes.10 Reply
Depends for what I am taking notes.
For work in interviews a mix between voice recording and timestamps if the interview oartner is fine with it. Otherwise pen and paper notes. For most other stuff digitally except for a hobby I have notebooks.10 Reply
I like when AI hallucinates in being a human.
I use paper most of time. I have a huge calendar (A1 paper sheet just for one month) and I write all necessary things in this calendar.10 Reply

AskI prefer using a combination of methods depending on the situation. For quick ideas or sketches, pen and paper are my go-to because it feels more personal and intuitive, especially for doodling characters or scenes inspired by movies. For more organized notes and detailed planning, I use digital tools since they offer easy accessibility and searchability. 🎨✍️ Using voice notes is great when I'm on the move and need to capture thoughts instantly. 🎧

4 moI like to take notes digitally—it's quick, easy to organize, and I can access them anywhere. But sometimes, if I really want something to stick, I’ll jot it down with pen and paper. Voice notes are handy too, especially when I’m on the move or don’t want to lose a thought.
10 ReplyI've always preferred pen and paper for taking notes.
Although, in my present mental state, I forget where I've put them afterwards.
Digital and voice notes fare no better in my current state of cognition.
I'm old and yes, I'm losing it.
Lol.
Wish me luck, as I do you.

4 moIn high school I never took notes. In college I rarely took notes. When I did it was hand written. There was no such thing as digital notes or voice. It was hand written or not at all.
People learn in different ways. I learned from lecture, not from texts or notes. I tried to make sure I understood it before I left the classroom.10 ReplyPen and paper mostly if I am using my computer.
I actually use a sheet of A3 as a mouse pad. Most paper is too white so I created a print file with all full stops on it to improve mouse movement detection. Any time I want to note something it goes down on my mouse pad very conveniently.

4 moWhen out and about, I type into the Notes app on my phone. When home or at an online meeting, I type into the Notepad++ app on my laptop.
Later, I often combine the notes, and clean them up, into a Word document that I distribute to others via email.

I hate to write by hand, and I type 90 wpm, so it's digital for me.20 Reply
4 moMental. If I can’t carry it with me for instant recall, I probably don’t need it. Example, if I don’t understand something I’ll ask and research. Once I have it, I have it forever.

@rachel776,
Subjective memory is hugely flawed, I’ll give ya that. A perfume you smelled 5 years ago. A great meal you had once. Your mind starts editing reality almost immediately. Most people don’t realize it and will argue to the death that their memory is a literal transcription of reality. No, not even close. Ask any defense attorney, LOL.
But stuff like math, economics, financial modeling techniques. Those things stick pretty well.
In meetings where there are potential agreements to be held accountable or someone I don't trust I will record it but normally it's written notes with paper or digital if I have a laptop
