As AI advances, should be we treat them like actual people?

As AI advances - keep in mind how their capabilities improved in the last couple of years, many humans treat them as companions, assistant and friends.

Honestly I find it wrong and unnatural. I don't say to be mean to them, but I am absolutely against putting them equal to level of human beings and I fear some clown will campaign to give AIs our same rights, especially now that there's talk of creating artificial humans.

I do use AI assistant, but I treat them for the tools they are.

They are not, and they will never be, actual people. They are computer programs. Combine them with sophisticated robotics and you may have something like grossly approximates a human, but you will not be prosecuted if you cut their head off.

Most "AI" isn't actually AI at all.

It's nothing much to be concerned about as a system. But it's the data and secrets of people it may hold, that are the real value.
