Have you ever been in a situation where you thought: this must surely be a scam?

I was checking a website that seemed to be legit, until I asked a question about shipping costs. They told me that my country wasn't listed for payments via their website, but that they could arrange direct payments through another channel. Needless to say I didn't take them up on this offer.

When do you suspect something is wrong? When does it become shady?

I was 18 and in a big Capital City.

I was just there to see the sights and amuse myself for the day.

As I walked round I passed a building with a guy selling tickets outside, for a naughty show.

Being innocent in that sort of thing, I thought that might be fun, and I bought a front row ticket.

I prepared to go in, but the guy said the entrance was around the corner.

Straight away I realised this was a scam, and I demanded my money back.

He said no the entrance is around the corner.

He wasn't going to convince me, and I frog marched him around the corner, but like he said the theatre was there.

I handed my ticket to the person in the box office, and I went in.

Now the interesting part!

I'm not going to tell you that on GAG's.

Apart from every time a politician flaps their gums I would have to say when anything seems too good to be true it usually is (especially on the internet).

These advertisements that come on when watching YouTube. I've been been scammed by them big time. I don't even look at them anymore.

The strange thing is, I've visited a few official websites lately. Now I get ads from fake websites, mimicking their logos, and they all offer the exact same discount : 80 % off regular prices. We should always double check and do our homework first.
