What should I bring on a solo camping trip?

1. Cell phone, with battery fully charged and packed separately, or phone off if not removable. Use only in emergency situation.
2. Headlamp
3. Water purification tablets, and a water filtration system like this one. Water is life, don't be without it. I take three forms of water: I pack in 6-8 liters, plus the two back ups. I use the Sawyer to fill water bottles and the purification tablets I never use, they are only for if the Sawyer fails.
4. thick bag for rubbish (pack it in, pack it out. Clean all rubbish so it doesn't have food on it if you are in bear country).
5. A way to start a fire: lighter (s), some fine fuels (or paper, or if some of your rubbish is paper)
6. A loud whistle and small mirror for rescue signaling. These items weigh less than 6 oz, and could save your life.
7. A small knife or multitool: can be a handy tool for many aspects of backpacking/camping.
8. Toilet paper, a. k. a. "mountain gold". Also spare pads or tampons, whatever you use.
9. Toothbrush and floss, and whatever toiletries you need (soap)
10. entertainment : I like a book or have even packed my Kindle (I've also broken a couple Kindles that got smashed), a small musical instrument, or whatever diversion/hobby you might enjoy.
If you are doing some car-camping at a campsite, this list may be overkill. I usually go out in the bush for days at a time and it's about being self-sufficient. If you can hop in your car and drive to the convenience store for marshmallows, you probably don't need a signal mirror.
Have a fun trip!
As little as possible.
I can't take the stress either. I think that's a fantastic plan.
I live on the side of a mountain. I might leave tomorrow with food water and a tent and, and leave my phone behind with signs of a struggle.
Hope everyone thinks I got kidnapped and doesn't come looking.
But, seriously, the only reason I'm joking is because my cat has asthma and I don't know if she can breathe outside for three days.
Also, garbage bags and a rope.
Sounds pretty edgy but... hear me out. Both of those things have 1000 uses and can get you out of a lot of tight spots. The hardest thing to do in the woods is keep things dry when it rains, and it's easier to build a substantial shelter out of trees than it is to make a rope.
Top tips.
YouTube is full of vids with the right kit to take. Study a few, weigh the opinions and go from there.
Anything you carry will have weight. So really consider if you need everything you're taking. Ditch extra gadgets, camera, GPS etc your phone will do all those, and instead invest in a battery pack to recharge your phone and protective / waterproof cover for it.
Water is probably your biggest friend and enemy, it's heavy, but you can't survive without. You need to make sure you can get sustainable clean water. Have a look at one of the small filters widely available that aren't too expensive. Sawyer Mini or Katadyn beFree are great solutions. You get all the water you need without having to carry.
Tampons make great fire starters.
Finally pack some basic meds. Stuff to kill pain or stop you shitting can make life more pleasant if you get sick.
Just remember your periods attract bears! https://youtu.be/CklM7lLBA9I
lol that's funny
funny until you wake up to a bear rooting around in your hoohah XD
I would bring extra food in case one of the cans you use break down or you don't catch as many fish as you plan to during your trip - some extra cash too in case they raise the price of the canoe rentals or you find a cool souvenir and spend more than you planned too.

A PLB - personal locator beacon - to alert authorities and let them know where you are in the event of a crisis like getting hurt or stuck and you need emergency help.
I have just the PLB for my wife. I think it's this, but it may be an earlier model:

but I'd get this kit now (they didn't have it when I bought her PLB).

A weapon since you will be by yourself , plenty of food and water , cooking utensils , First aid kit , clothes for both types of weather , cold, warm , rainy weather , Just depends on what kind of camping you are doing, are you staying in 1 spot or are you hiking around?
Your sense of what being camping solo means to you.
Think about how you'll occupy your time.
Bring those things that will help you achieve those goals.
They could be simple, or they could be complex.
It is for you, the adventurous camper, to decide.

It's worth putting some food outside the tent to see what local wildlife you can attract. Have a Google to see what's in the area so you know what to bring.

Well as long as your safe and it’s something you enjoy, go for it.
A person, you camping alone sounds sorta depressing
Lol actually I really enjoy being out in nature alone. It’s peaceful and recharges me.
