How to find a last minute travel buddy?

I am currently in the military and can sometimes have a hard time getting time off, but when I do everyone is working, going to school, etc. so it's really hard to meet up/catch up with people. I don't want to waste time going home and instead use this time to relax, but also travel and see/do new things. I have 2 weeks off 08/08-08/19 and am unsure what to do with my time, but I don't want to do it alone. Note: I have no problem doing things by myself, I've traveled alone, went to the movies alone (before the pandemic), the beach, library, museum... but this time I would like some company. How do you guys & gals find like minded people to travel with?

we joined that travel buddy program 6 months before.

One thing you can do is just go travel, meet other singles and chat up with them. Be flexible, if hit it off… can travel together.
Or visit old friends/family.

I don't know about CONUS, but coworkers usually travel together.

If your base has a FB page try posting you're looking for a travel buddy there.

I am in a FB page for my base, but a lot of the people that post on there are married asking about child care, buying homes, or giving away things during PCS. There is the BOSS program too, but its mostly 18-22 y/o guys

I'd say utilize BOSS program.
Especially if it's mostly men. The few girls will probably stick together.

Be careful who you end up traveling with. A travel companion can get you in a whole lot of trouble.

I dont have anyone either. I wish though... but you're right, its hard to find one. Also hard to gind friends as an adult

It is indeed hard to make friends as an adult, especially being in the military where you don't get a lot of time b/c the moment you make a friend they move away. I do have one really good friend and we were supposed to go to Miami, but he got a temporary duty assignment during the time that we requested off

I've mostly done solo things in places I've, NYC, Maryland, but to go out the country solo is a bit nerve wracking for me
