What should I do in this situation? Going to Japan for a month?

So, i booked a flight to Japan because i'm planning to do an internship there. I also have a cosmetic appointment on the 16th there. I was to leave on the 14th of September. But the internship place told me to book a flight first and give them details, then they took two weeks to get me the invitation letter to enter Japan. Fast forward i'm now awaiting for the visa to be approved. It was accepted on Friday. I tried rushing the lady at he consular politely but they said that it's not their fault and I agree. My plane ticket was non-refundaable or changeable, and I tried calling the airline and agent, they both said so. What do you think I should do with this situation? Pleaes help

Delta owns Korean Air and that’s the only combination that I could fix without loss around COVID-19 days.
