I had an International Scout. It was really a great vehicle.

That’s a great looking car.
My favorite was probably my 2002 Chevy Blazer. My sentimental favorite is my first car, a 1994 Dodge Shadow. But the Blazer was the first and still only car I bought that was (at least to some degree) “the one I wanted.” I probably would’ve gotten an Escalade or a Suburban or something, if I had my druthers, but within reason, I wanted a black SUV and I got one.
The one afterwards was for practical reasons, gas mileage, reliability, and a high mileage threshold (40k miles a year, mostly business). Honda CR-V. It was fine, but not “cool.” Soccer mom vibes lmao. Then I got a hand-me-down Cadillac ATS that was fine but way too small for my height, and when that burned out I took over my old man’s Honda Pilot. The Pilot is ok, but it’s Rental Car White, lmao. And it just hit 210k yesterday, so it’s on the 17th or 18th hole. Time to re-up. Probably getting a 4Runner, but mayyyyybe a Bronco. Gotta do some research, and decide if I want to drop that extra 10k. Still doing crazy annual mileage too, 24,000 visiting my girlfriend 2x a week across the state alone, then all the usual local mileage. So I’m still doing like 40k…. and then it’s a matter of do I want to burn out a nice car that quickly? A lot hinges on my dad’s lifespan too. He could be gone tomorrow or in five years, which would totally swing my lifestyle and travel schedule. So it’s kind of a tough spot, but I’m also 45 years old and kind of just want to get what I want, and not be so ruled by outside factors…. but I’m too practical to pull the trigger on it, haha.
Anyway, not sure how I ended up here, lmao, but the 2002 Blazer was my favorite. Cool looking car (got keyed all around it a year in and I got a fresh paint job for the price of a deductible too😎), maybe had a some trouble mechanically at times…although I beat the shit out of it at the end with the job I had, all those miles, often hauling half a ton of product my bum ass company couldn’t truck in a timely manner🙄 And I had that car when I was peak WhiteSteve, so I had quite a few lovely female passengers in there, hahaha, so that alone gives it the win

I had one of these. 305 V8, 4 speed manual with Posi traction rear end. It had over 250K miles on it. I sold it to some kid and honest to God, a couple of years later on Christmas day at my in laws I was standing on the front porch and I saw ut drive right by their house. It still had the same bumper sticker on iti

My parents gave me a '66 Rambler American 2 dr, 6 cyl, automatic trans as soon as I got my driver's license in 1970 when I turned 16. A couple of years later, it developed transmission problems.
My dad bought a new car and gave me his '63 Buick Le Sabre 2dr hard top. It was midnight blue with a white top, had bench seats and was super roomy and comfortable. It had a monster 401 cu in engine.
That was a cool car. It was built like a battle ship, was super dependable, indestructible, and could go anywhere and do anything.
I christened it the Bismark and The Ride of the Valkyries was it's theme song.
I had so many adventures in that car and had so much fun.
Around 1976, I bought an all gold, souped up '72 Chevy El Camino. It had a small block 325 engine that had been bored out to 350. It wasn't the original engine and the engine was old enough not to require a smog pump. I didn't even have to get is smog checked. It had a Hearst shifter on the floor, a modified trans, rear end and exhaust, fat tires, and air shocks in the back that raised the rear bed line up parallel to the ground. It had bench seat and a nice stereo system.
That car could really go. It's theme song was Highway Star by Deep Purple.13 Reply- 1 mo
WOW!! Those are land boats with CLASS and STEEL. SWEET!! My uncle had a 74 buick Electra 225. Let's just say I didn't have my pilots license to dock that monster...

My Ford Focus will always have a special place in my heart. She was my first car and was small and pretty but I love my Yukon! I feel a lot safer, because of its size, plus it has four wheel drive, that I need.

Your a guy so I totally understand! My husband drools all over himself when we are at a Ford dealership together when I am getting oil changes. He wants a Raptor but refuses to pay that much for a vehicle. His current ride is a Lincoln Navigator.

The International Scout is a fantastic choice, renowned for its ruggedness and off-road capabilities. It's a great companion for exploring less-traveled paths. Its classic design and adaptability made it a favorite among enthusiasts who love adventures. Exploring with a vehicle like that can lead to some unforgettable journeys! 🌍✨

I'm going with 2007 or later crown victoria police cruisers from auction.
They're fast, reliable, and typically under 1000 dollars at auction, 4000 if you buy them all fixed up with the wiring and all buttoned up. The ride of a luxury car with the engine of a truck, and body of a tank.
I used to pick my girls up from school and go do donuts in the mall parking lot while they were laughing and screaming in the back.
Add on just flooring it on interstate without getting pulled over, man, I think I might frankenstein another one of those together.

You got me on why they'd stop making them, the fact that you can still consistently find them on auction means police forces are using them until they aren't serviceable anymore as individual cars. Just buy two for like 400 a piece and put a good engine in a good body for another 1000 or so, newish car acquired lol.

My favorite car was probably a 1989 Pontiac Firebird. Which was comical. Because all things considered it was far from my best car. The t-tops leaked, and I live in the upper Midwest so driving in the winter was an adventure. It sat so low that it dragged through so much snow it seemed like I was replacing a starter on it every year. But I think I loved it because I owned it for 9 years. It was the first car I owned that was not a constant headache and it makes up a significant portion of my youth.
My best car was probably the last one I owned. Which was a 2010 dodge Charger.

I miss International Harvester. From the Scout to the Travelall, they actually made the first Utility Vehicles, and they ran well for their time.

I had sweet 73 Blazer convertible that I rolled like a dumb ass but my favorite car was my first, a ratty ass 66 Chevelle with a fucked up interior and primer paint. It wasn't particularly fast for a muscle car but it never let me down, until I blew the engine 1000 miles from home haha. That will happen when you go 100 mph from L. A. to Seattle, though.

I always buy full size American made cars. I get over 200K miles from them and never had a major problem. My wife had a 1991 Ford Country Squire. It was the last year it was produced. We had that vehicle for over 15 years. We sold it in 2008 when my wife bought a Mercury Mariner. The biggest repair I had to do was replace the windshield washer. In this nanny state you cannot get an inspection sticker without one.
Over the summer I was driving home from work and I saw my wife's old car going the other way. It still looked good. - 1 mo
I am glad to hear that you've had a good experience with American cars. Most people have not. You also may have some surprises in store for you as I believe you presently drive a Ford F-150 pickup truck. That truck gets terrible ratings from consumer reports and has had multiple serious recalls. Have you experienced any difficulty with it as yet?
- 1 mo
I have had it for 5 years already and when it was new one of the tail lights got flooded if it rained out. The dealership fixed it. Other than that it is still a new truck. I like the aluminum body. I do not haul around rocks or heavy lumber so it won't get dented but it is lighter and will not rust or rot. I might have it until I die.
The one I got now, which is a hand me down from mom. Acura little suv

For over 10 years, I had a Honda Civic hatchback. It got great mileage, was fun to drive (manual stick transmission) and I could carry just about anything in it, even a 4x8 sheet of plywood.

Yes, in addition to my Porsche, I also have an everyday driver which is a mazda6 that is 11 years old. This is a terrific car that now has 125,000 mi on it and has had minimal difficulties. Probably the weakest part of this car is the entertainment system which is certainly not critical for driving.
