No, I'll be completely honest with you. I never had any interest in it and I thought it was boring, until last year when I randomly decided to research it. And it turns out Malaysia is far more interesting than I thought. I was genuinely looking into visiting, but for some reason, it's so expensive compared to other countries in the region. Another issue I have with visiting Malaysia, is everything is too spread out. If I want to see everything, I'd have to I have to stay in various places which is a pain in the ass. So Malaysia is probably off the list right now.

I also heard they're kind of nationalistic, despite being multi-cultural. I've heard foreigners say they weren't treated very good and I even saw videos of people who were born there and couldn't get Malaysian citizenship, because they weren't ethnic Malays, whatever that means

The original people are the natives which are called Orang Asli. Malay Supremacy/Bumiputera. They give special treatments/benefits to Malays only. Indians are a minority. Giving jobs & rental also a problem. Scholarship they give Malays. Race based policies. International Companies especially got quata based (Require to hire a certain percentage of Malays)

I am going to say Malaysians seem to be very social and invest deeply in their extended social communities while Chinese people tend to limit their social network to a smaller core group and delve very little into outlanders or those outside their core friend circle. I also believe Malaysians tend to have a more travel instincts and might venture further for regular journeys than others who only venture outside their immediate location for special occasions. Like I will fly to other countries or continents but I take very few road trips in my home country, not even Niagara Falls, which is only an hour away. I only visit Niagara Falls once every year or three.
