4 Things More Offensive Than Colin Kaepernick's Anthem Protest

So…we all know Colin Kaepernick won’t stand for the national anthem and it has just outraged most of the country. Most of you may have heard, but he’s protesting the national anthem and the flag because of the way America is treating black people on a day to day basis.

Now, I don’t really care if you agree with him. His Constitutional rights allow him to do this freely. And you can bitch about it as much as you want. But, something that has seriously bothered me is how much negative attention this is getting. Don’t get me wrong, I think his protest is important and what he’s protesting is a major issue that should be dealt with. However, there have been so many more heinous things happen this week in our nation that, honestly, haven’t been brought up. Whether on the news, Facebook, articles, or even G@G, you just don’t see or hear too many people discussing them. So, in case you think Colin Kaepernick’s nonviolent demonstration is the most disrespectful thing to happen this week, here’s a list that will prove you wrong.

1. Jared Fogle Sues One Of His Victims

Yes, you read that shit right. Jared Fogle, the child loving, Subway eating, porn using spokesperson is suing the parents of one of his victims. Why? Well, the child is suffering from suicidal thoughts and tendencies, including self harm and drug abuse. Even though the child claims he is the reason she acting out like this, Fogle believes it is the parents fault. In his case filing, Fogle claims that the parents fighting and drinking in front of the girl is the reason she is the way she is. He is currently serving a 15 year sentence and is launching a full scale court attack against the family for putting him behind bars for an unnecessarily long time, claiming he was not at fault for the child’s behavior.

Yes, I’m serious.

2. 2012 Aurora Shooting Victims Owe Cinemark Theatre $700,000

We all should remember this freak who waltzed into an Aurora, Colorado theatre during the showing of Batman. The victims of the shooting sued Cinemark for not doing enough to prevent the shooting, claiming Cinemark had inadequate security measures put in place. 28 victims sued the chain, but the court and it’s 6 jurors ruled against them, citing that Cinemark could not have possibly prevented the shooting. To add insult to injury Cinemark requested AFTER the ruling that the victims pay their legal fees, traveling expenses, evidence preservation, and more. Cinemark won. Now the 28 victims owe Cinemark a collective of $700,000 in legal fees. Justice is served, right? Right.

3. Stanford Rapist Brock Turner Is Released From Prison

I won’t talk too much about this one because this was technically an issue 3 months ago. Now it’s becoming another issue in and of itself. Today, Friday, September 2, 2016, Brock Turner was released from prison. He will be returning to his home state of Ohio to live with his parents and us Ohioans are not happy with it. Here’s how the trial went:

-Turner face 15 years for sexual assault and intent to rape

-Prosecutors asked for 6 years

-Judge gave him 6 months

-Turner serves 3 months because he had good behavior

But don’t forget, Kaepernick isn’t standing for the flag!

4. IRS Fines Donald Trump For Bribing Florida Attorney General To Stop “Trump U” Investigation

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump violated a tax law by giving money to Pam Bondi. Apparently, one of Trump’s charity foundations gave a contribution to a group that associated itself with the Florida Attorney General. The foundation told the IRS the donation was given to a Kansas charity called ‘Justice For All’, but, in actuality, it didn’t send that group anything. After reviewing the 2013 tax filings, it was discovered the listed donation didn’t even exist. Instead, it was hiding a $25,000 gift to a campaign group, which violated IRS rules. Basically, Trump lied.

Shocker.

Just saying…there’s other things happening in our country right now that are more offensive and ridiculous than a football player not standing during the national anthem.
