I read your take. I think show is a good way to show some differences, issues and struggles with the race relations. With that said, the label you put on anything (product, movie, show, etc) does have a quick emotional impact. People do judge a book by it's cover. That's just how it is.
There were been so many other ways to start a title of a show other than "dear white people". I feel that was done on purpose to create more controversy and therefore more publicity and viewership.
If reminders of Confederate history weren't being vandalized or destroyed the way ISIS destroys anything that isn't itself, the present backlash would not exist.
There are no racist words, shows or anything, only racist minds.

The title is meant to be provocative and ancillary (I think). You can't then be confused why people are upset about it. I doubt that a show would get aired with the title "dear black folk, it's not about you." But anyway, that's just my two cents.
Good take.. It was very well written, and had many good points... Although I was spoiled cause I didn't finish the show, but you are right in what you say.. Although there are some things that I was kinda like " eeehh".. But good take!

Call me overly American, but I'm comfortable with violent scenes in shows, not nudity and sex though.
Well, I ain't uncomfortable with sex scenes, it's just that they are annoying, and take me out of the character development sometimes.. LOL..
@JDavid25 I hate sex scenes because about 90% of them are unnecessary. Like I think most of the ones in this series were not necessary at all to help further the story.

No. Using the word 'white' in describing someone doesn't necessarily make it racist. The insult in that phrase isn't white, it's 'bitch' because that word can be used to describe anyone of any color. They also used a rap song in there with the 'n' word in it and white person said it while singing to the song. That wasn't racist either because he was singing to a song.
