A Nazi-supporting YouTuber had her channel terminated. Was this right on YouTube's part?

Question

Evalion is a young, pretty girl, sure, but her views on certain topics were very extreme. For example, she made videos throwing a birthday party for Hitler, defended what the Nazis did to the Jews, and even made a video about how to identify a Jew! She admits to hating all sorts of groups of people and would make videos bashing them, and would defend her right to say these things under our right to free speech. 

A big YouTuber called Leafyishere found her videos and called her out for being hateful, and the video got millions of views. In the end her entire channel was taken down for hate speech. 

 
Here's my view on the whole thing. While people in America and other countries have the right to say whatever they want about anything, despite whether or not people like it or not, YouTube is a privately owned business, and as soon as you make an account, you are agreeing with their Terms of Service. If they want to remove your account for hate speech, they can do that. That's how private businesses function.

On the one hand, she did have views that I don't agree with, but on the other hand, is that really a justification for terminating her account. While I'm completely against Nazism, I do not agree with the methods used. Opinions that are viewed as being wrong should be argued against, and censorship is just the easy route out. If censorship was allowed, then how are we better than them? And the term hate speech is applied to whatever speech offends someone, which offense is subjective.

While the site is owned by a company and they could do that if they wanted to, in my view, they ought not do that because YouTube should be a neutral platform on any political issues.

Yes it was right of youtube to take down her channel.
Freedom of speech does not give you the right to hate speech. Your rights end where other people's rights begin. And if you start making hateful and threatening statements towards certain groups of people, then you're violating their rights. And that's not legal.
Youtube has the right to filter out content that doesn't match with their site policies.

While I personally strongly disagree with her, freedom of speech is a thing, and as long as she's not hurting someone, then she can say what she likes.
However, I agree with you, Youtube certainly has the right to terminate her account for hate speech if they see fit.

Youtube is a private company so they have the right to suspend the accounts of any user for whatever reason really. That said she also had a fairly negative impact on the community and possibly could contribute to human harm or discrimination which is illegal.

I think there is enough basis to suspend her account even if you put aside that they simply have the right to chose who they allow and dont from the start.

Franky, I think she should be able to express that how much she wants as long as she doesn't call out for nor practice violence.
That being said, youtube is a business and company that can make their own decisions. If they don't want something like that it's their good right to close her account. If she doesn't like it she will have to upload her videos elsewhere.

However there are even bigger youtubers who do this shit in a different way and seem to get away with it every single day and call it 'entertainment'.

Other than that I agreed with most everything she said. She now has a video channel on BitChute. It is called: Stay Sane. Her views have changed quite a bit.

YouTube was certainly correct in terminating her account. While you are free to say anything you want within legal bounds, she is using YouTube's platform. YouTube has complete authority in deciding what a user can and cannot do, when they use their platform. By terminating her account, YouTube is not censoring her or stopping her from saying what she wants. She's completely free to stand in the streets and yell all the pro-Nazi stuff she wants. She just won't be doing it on YouTube.

Freedom of speech means that you can say whatever you want, it's not a surprise for us that the nazi ideology still stands, even though just a small group of people still defend it. I don't think that what she says would influence many people and I wouldn't consider her channel a major threat.

But youtube does have terms of service, so I agree with you, if she did anything against those terms (which is very likely) the channel should've been deleted.

There is nothing wrong with expressing an opinion but if it is said to offend others else then it shouldn't be allowed. I think that the remarks about identifying a jew were too much, but the birthday party for Hitler, although super weird and creepy, is her prerogative. I can somewhat understand if a person has had a LOT of situations with a group of people they may develop hate. Which still isn't right.
