Can you read an Analog Clock?

I find it a bit sad; the analogue clock represents the movement of the sun across the sky (to an extent, anyway).
Did you know that if you point the hour hand of a watch at the sun, South (or North, for those south of the equator) is half way between the hand and 12? (If you ignore daylight savings time.)
How are there people that can't? I thought that you'd first learn the time on an analog clock as a little kid. At least I did. And since we're talking about it, what's with people not knowing what time is 18:00 for example?
I grew up reading them. Seems odd to consider someone not being able to... I remember the babysitter had a digital clock at her house and I found the glowing red numbers so sinister lol.
I teach in a UK school. Yes, I can read analogue clocks and so can the kids, especially at the end of lessons (and that's me as well as them!).
Yes obviously, it's a really basic skill in my opinion.
at first glance I knew the clock pictured says 3:07 lol
Ah, but how do you know it's not actually 1507?
@LisaLisa89 the 15 is for the seconds right?
There is a 15 there which is for the seconds or for the minutes, but I was referring to the standard way of differentiating between morning and afternoon. I don't know about you, but I try to avoid looking at the clock at 0307.
@LisaLisa89 ah yeah I forgot about that. living by that different time standard is confusing as hell to me haha

Yes. It takes me a few seconds, but I can tell
What's so difficult about reading an analog clock or at least what's so hard in learning how to... It's really simple and it seems really stupid that someone can't read an analog clock.
I can but it takes me a few seconds. Normally I just glance at them to get a general idea of the time because I'm too lazy to figure out the exact time
Surprised that 2 people (so far) voted they can't. I can understand kids, but gg. Guess it's a sign of the times
I can if I take the time to really look.
I can't just glance at it for a second and be like "oh, its 3:08". If that makes sense lol
i can but like, i have to look at it for a minute or so to figure the time out
i can't just glance at it and know the time
I know how to read them but it takes me a while because I never use analog clocks
Most kids my age can’t but I can. I learned to read them when I was 3 or 4
Anyone who knows how to tell time should know how to read one of those.
My father can read a analoge clock but finds it confusing. And I find a am/pm clock really confusing. 24H is the best in my eyes
What?
I'm so used to analog clocks that I prefer it to digital ones on a wrist watch.
I read about this. Wait until it makes it way here..
Yeah I read it easier than digital. My brain just processes analogs quicker
Yes. It's a basic life skill. It's sad that there are some kids who can't.
I can but I remember they took it out of my class because some students couldn’t
I remeber when digital clocks were rare
Laziness I think... ?
I do read an analogue clock all the time
Yes, I can. I have one at home.
I can read an analog clock and Roman numerals
