The confederate flag represents many people both black and white who come from down south and are proud of that fact. The liberals today are the ones who try to bring it back to a racist time. If you knew the true meaning of the US flag you would probably be offended too.
@StraightOuttaHades So of us patriots see the Confederate Flag as a symbol or treason.

I don't condone slavery but I feel like people forget our founding fathers had slaves so to say the confederate flag is a symbol of racism means so is the US flag if you wanna get technical.
No it doesn't. The kkk uses a burning cross to intimidate. Does that mean all crosses are intended as a threat? That doesn't make any sense. You're looking for connections and assuming causality.
You are saying the confederate flag is the flag of a dead racist enemy nation well then the US flag is too by your logic since the founding fathers supported slavery just like the confederates
No, that's your logic. My logic makes a distinction between fighting a war against slavery and fighting a war for it.
So it is ok that George Washington had slaves but not others?
@normalice Yeah I don't exactly understand why he's making that correlation here either.
@StraightOuttaHades Yes, one could argue that the American flag is a symbol of racism to some people. It's also a symbol of hope and justice, whereas the Stars and Bars is ONLY a symbol of racism.
It's not okay that George Washington had slaves. But that has nothing to do with the fact that the united states did not declare independence from the British Empire over the right to own slaves. The confederate nations, however, did exactly that. If you can't see that, you're just trying not to.
It is not a conservative symbol but it is not necessarily a racist symbol either many people see it as a sign of southern pride the liberals made it about being racist.
