I accidentally sent an inappropriate picture (not nude) to a female friend. She had bought me a coat as a gift and asked me to send her a picture wearing it so she could see how it looked. I took a few pictures, scrolled through my picture gallery, and sent her one. Unfortunately, in the picture gallery it appeared as if the picture cut off at my waist, but when you click on the full picture it cuts off at my thigh. It was completely unsolicited (as well as unintentional on my part), so I have two questions. Would this be considered a "dick pic," and (if it was) would it matter that it was sent completely by accident?

there are approximately 30 million people in the state of Texas.
the average person texts 32 times a day not including social media apps which when accounted for bring this to over 50.
10 percent of people send dick pics
of the people that send dick pics those messages make up 5 percent of the messages they send
of the dick pics sent a whopping 20 percent are unsolicited in some way

I ran the numbers In my head b/c I am a genius. It comes to 1.5 Million unsolicited DICK pics every single day in the state of Texas.

A number of very restrictive anti porn laws should have been implemented the day people starting sharing images and text.

Now it is too late to implement anything because it is almost impossible to control, let alone regulate the net.

As long as so much money is involved, it is in nobody's interest to regulate the internet and certainly not the governments.

They would have way too much to lose by losing control over their citizens.

The idea however is good. Let's hope this becomes an international law that protects citizens rather than criminals, just like so many laws actually do.

Wow I live in Texas and I didn't know it. I think it is a good idea because if a man pulled out his penis in the real world it would be a sex offender crime. My friend had to call the police the other day because a man was masturbating on the train in front of her during rush hour time. She really felt it was directed to her since he was right in front of her.

If it isn't sent because two people are sharing together then it is wrong. Well i'm not really for any digital sharing but as long as it is consensual I don't have a problem with it.

Gotta say I've developed a revolutionary new take on the unsolicited dick pic. Here's the setup fellas, all you need is a few gifs and some clip art take notes. So let's say you use snapchat, take said dick pic, no holding it or letting your ego show through or any of that gay shit. Just the dick himself no balls. First give him a bouncing top hat right over the head, now that's a good start. Put in a pair of twinkling, half-way anime eyes below the top hat and a monocle over your preferred eye, now we're getting somewhere. Put a dapper mustache in where a mustache would go, and as a coup de grace (bonus points) a clip art suit over the lower third of the shaft. And voila you've not sent a cringy dick pic, but a cultured gentlemen she might not mind spending some time with. I'll be taking thank you letters at; 1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW, Washington, DC

dude seriously. the idiocy of laws that recently come out in america is not even funny anymore. it is terrifying and shocking. like why are people unable to cope with life that much? how do you even proof that it was "unsilicited"? by claiming you didn't want it in hindsight? or must there be a written formal contract that alows people to send each other nudes first? this shit gets dumber by the day.

why did you not bother to answer any of my questions about how to establish that it was actual "missconduct". it's hard to prove it was rape but with freaking nudes that were sent, you won't be able to tell unless you litterally said "please don't send me dickpicks" and he sent them anyway.

yeah. why not have a freaking council negotiation meeting every time you wanna send nudes. if you get dick pics, delete them and block the sender like every adult person on the planet. if you're underage, yes by all means that should be punished. i don't see a reason to make a law for this shit unless it goes against children or takes predatory/stalker like shapes.

You accidentally slip a fart sometimes. You don’t accidentally take a photo of your dick and send it to someone you don’t know even wants it in the first place. Easy solution: don’t do it. Should be easy enough.

Firstly same should be done in regards to females sending unsolicited nudes. Forget about 'females wouldn't do that" or "all female nudes are welcome to dudes" it should just also be a law.
Can it be implementated globally, sure it can.
Will it be implemented globally, hell no.

I hope they make it illegal like that in ALL states! But a $500 fine is nothing... They should make it at least $5,000. Heh, I know I'm about to be making a bunch of guys pay fines. Because you know I'll tell on them first thing if I didn't want to see it... Man, I need to move to Texas!!!

I don't know how this could be enforced but it is crude behavior anyway.

I don't think it is up to governments to regulate individual citizens behavior beyond obvious threats to safety like assaults, theft, murder etc. This is an unfortunate effect of a free and open internet and 1st Amendment plus ability to remain anonymous.

How would this apply if the recipient is in Texas but sender was in Georgia or Russia even?

I think this has more political benefit for conservative politics than for the public.

It is already illegal if the intended recipient is under age.

If your over 18 and online suck it up, your an adult so stop asking daddy politician to protect you.

Are unsolicited pussy pics illegal too? I'm guessing so, but what about breasts? I wonder who is going to enforce any violations... the dick pic cops? Well I'm glad y'all took action on THAT really urgent issue, Texas. Now you can work on making vibrators legal, which are currently against the law.

You have picked your side. You think police should be involved if you get a photogragh you don't want or like. Notning illegal mind you, not the dead body of someone they murdered, nope just a bidy part.

I think women should likewise be fined/arrested for dressing like sluts.

If they did it in public even if they were urinating then they'd send up on the sex offender list. My friend had to call the police on a man masturbating on a train in the next seat in front of her. It was 5pm during rush hour. The police came and got him.

My girl (and me as well) had received such pictures before. We looked at them together and it was a great source for laughter.
I don't see the point in winding up about something irrelevant.
Instead of dealing (legally) with 'dick pics', I'd rather think of a 'driving license' for electronic communications. One, that can be revoked.

The court system is always looking to take in more money. It's a good idea though, it punishes morons who send unsolicited dick pics 24/7. We all know it's going to be a low priority offense, but if someone is really annoying and unrelenting in their um "unorthodox online dating" efforts, then he could wind up paying the fine.

Guys who send Dick picks have no idea of female nature. Without general sexual attraction or attraction to the person sending it it has zero value. It's Just a loose attachment.. but to ban it is ridiculous.. why take offence to a image someone sends you. This law is a stupid feministlaw with implementation from the left

Since the fine is only $500, I'm in favor of it. That should be easy to collect and it is a large enough penalty to prevent guys sending such photos; expecially repeat offenders. However, if it was prison time such as a year in prison, I would be opposed.

It should be! 😂 Seriously though, it's sexual harassment/public nudity no? You weren't asked and sometimes when you say no guys do it anyway, that's sexual harassment I'd say, and it should definitely count as public nudity unless it's consensual.

I never understood why guys do this 😂 Just never saw why, I'd never do it personally.
