Has the homicide rate increased or decreased where you live?

Question

Just in my city alone (not even counting the whole state) there's already been 47 homicides in 2022. This is 23 more than last year at this date.
There was a triple murder early Sunday morning on the block I lived on when was married to my first husband when we lived above his parents. And a double shooting also Sunday morning less than 3 miles away...

Gone up from 0.6 per 100,000 to 6.6 per 100,000.

Overall crime went from 540 per 100k to 2,400 per 100k. Violent crime went from 115 per 100k to 398 per 100k. I moved here to get away from democrats ruining everything and it was incredible for 2 years but then they came over and they're ruining it. Before 2020, I'd never seen gang activity, heard gunshots, witnessed a crime, or heard complaints from neighbors.

Now I've heard gunshots on two occasions, seen gangs running around, I've seen 4 gang members holding their crotch just like they do when they have a gun walk into Walgreens, only to walk right back out upon seeing me.
I've had a guy chase me and tailgate me but he ran off when he noticed the pro-2a stickers.

I've had people suspiciously park next to me at the ATM and he started walking towards me but ran back in the vehicle to drive off when he noticed that I too had a gun. I'm glad I have that right down here to possess a firearm and stuff but democrats need to stop ruining everything and let people have a good time in red areas, I'm sick of it😔

There were four murders last year, and one murder so far this year. Just like last year, everyone who was killed, and all of the killers, had criminal records involving previous violent crimes and numerous drug offences. Every killing took place in one specific area of the city, an area which no law-abiding citizen has any reason to live near, or set foot in.

I believe they've increased. You can see more memorials set up on the sidewalks or wherever someone died - young people that is. Some have banners with a big picture of the person and candles lit. It is so sad. There is one memorial from someone I had just had breakfast with. He was the pastor here in our apartment building. He left here after breakfast with myself and two other residents. He was on his way to his church where he was a pastor and going to give his sermon. On the way he was hit by a car that was in a high speed chase. His car was broadsided and he was killed. I was very shook up because minutes earlier we were laughing during breakfast here. 🤢

We just read a statistic that we are battling to have the highest homicide rate in the country. There have been so many murders here. I don't particularly live in a violent part of town, but someone was just shot and killed like 2 weeks ago about 6 blocks from me over some type of domestic altercation. We've had several police killed recently. It's really getting bad to the point where I'm not sure I feel comfortable going out alone at night.

Crime in Germany is at or near an all-time low. Statistics in my whole state for murder plus manslaughter show between 28 and 38 cases per year (clearance rate >95%) for the last five years. So I would say it's stable at low levels.

Not sure. I haven’t watched the news in well over a year. If sirens go by I’ll click the police scanner app on for a bit to get more details. Couple months ago a woman locked herself in her home down the street. The fire dept and ambulance were camped out front my house for hours. I was going to cook them a meal if it had taken much longer.

It’s become extremely dangerous where I live. I only realised when I started buying the local newspaper. A lot of the crimes are not talked about, and because my town is so small the TV doesn’t report on them. I’d recommend getting the local paper before a National one. It’s important to know what’s going on and areas to avoid.

I think we were down like 26% from 2020 at the end of last year. Only five bodies so far this year, three months in. On a real good pace but summertime is usually when shit gets hectic. Gotta be the heat😅

I'll double check, but I haven't heard of any homicide in my little town in over a decade. There was a domestic attempted murder about 15 years ago or so.

It always shocks me when I put the crime channel on and there's some American homicide detective who has his own series, I mean I came from a place in England called Nottingham which was referred to as Shottingham after a few gun incidents a few years back because we literally had about a dozen shootings in a year, it's a different world lol

Crime has risen steadily over the last 20 years. In my town. But to be fair it coincided with the casino that was built. As for the murder rate the last 3 years was the highest it's been since 1978 at 20 homicides. But according to the statistics I've read my state is the 13 lowest state in murder. The statistics don't surprise me as my state has very low unemployment

Belgium - refugees brought a lot of anger, and severely upped the crime rates.

Liberals often run large cities and are soft on crime, including releasing criminals early, which leads to more violence. They decreased police funding which to no surprise of anyone that isn't totally stupid increased crime too.

Over the past couple of years, some people gave become so desperate to feed and house their families that they have turned to crime as that was the only avenue left.
