"According to former White House staffers, Donald Trump called VP Mike Pence a “wimp” in a “heated” phone call just after 11 am on January 6, the Special Committee investigating the attack heard on June 16.

Footage posted by the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol included statements from former White House lawyer Eric Herschmann and former White House adviser Ivanka Trump about the former president’s behavior toward Pence in the moments leading up to the attack on the Capitol.

According to Ivanka Trump and Herschmann, Trump had a “pretty heated” phone conversation with Pence at 11:20 am on January 6.

Former White House staffer Nick Luna said he remembered Trump calling Pence a wimp: “I remember hearing the word wimp …. I don’t remember if he said, ‘You are a wimp, you’ll be a wimp.’ Wimp is the word I remember," Luna said.

Julie Radford, former adviser to Ivanka Trump, said Ivanka relayed to her that her father had called Mike Pence “the p-word.”"

Obviously not! I’m just waiting for people to get over the shit caused by the FORMER president, and start paying attention to the shit caused by THIS administration! I mean hello, over $7. A gal for gas in California? Well over $5 per gal everywhere else? Food cost is through the roof, and we MAY actually have babies starving this summer if Abbott Labs can’t get their main, and the countries biggest baby formula factory, (which was ordered closed by the Biden FDA in Feb) up and running at full production in the next two weeks! That is what worries me, NOT what the guy who no longer has any power to affect anything is doing, or did!

@MAC1983 Im not interested in Ukraine as it relates to this discussion, because there’s been very little actual impact due to the war, as Ukraine has one main export… Grain! The U. S grows millions of tones more grain than we eat! As for gas, gas prices were at an all time low, until Biden was elected, because during the debates he PROMISED to “end fossil fuel” if elected. Well he won, and Fuel prices began rising right after he won! Look, I fuckin’ hated Trump, but at least under Trump the U. S. was completely oil independent! Biden PROMISED he would do it, and now Biden has stopped drilling on federal land, revoked oil lease’s, and cancelled the Keystone pipeline, to move oil from Canada to the U. As for the baby food shortage, that was b/c the Biden FDA shutting down America’s largest baby formula factory in November 2021, due to bacterial contamination. NO effort was made to alert the press, or at LEAST all other makers of formula, to increase production, also sign an emergency order suspending the regs banning importation of European baby formula, to make up the difference until Abbott Labs could decontaminate the factory! Also, the U. S. Army has the best pathogenic (bacteria) decontamination team on Earth, why weren’t they deployed to help get the factory up and running in weeks not more than 7 months? They are however considered the “Bread basket” of Europe, but the harvest would not have been until this coming fall, which should not raise US food prices, or any food prices today. Especially not the U. S. we simply don’t import Ukrainian grain… That is an issue for Europe, and a major one! But I addressed that at the top.

Supply and demand does not work nationally only. You probably know that, regardless of how much oil the USA have - and they have a LOT of it , and reserves, no argument there - there is a monopoly of the Oil Producing and Exporting Countries that influence US Oil price regardless of using another reference that the Brent Barrel.

Also, the Ukraine are not just the Bread Basket of the former Soviet Union, Russia or Europe. They are one of the largest exporters of food in the World, cereals at the top but not limited to them. It affected every continent including the Americas. Africa is in special trouble because of other wars and crisis. Also, the harvests are not all in the fall - the Russians have already blockaded a boat full of grain for export more than onc

I have read the article. The FDA is a very particular organisation and I'm not going to touch it. You know it's role in your opioid epidemic better than me, for instance. The thing is, the company you mentioned had not one but two recalls over terrible hygiene conditions. That is a fact according to your source. Are you saying the CDC or another decontamination agency should be actioned promptly? I agree, but I don't know how that works in your country and there is no mention of it in the news.
I do know how important baby formula is for parents, but I also know they would starve to buy something safe...

And if I can take one more point to the discussion, which I'm only doing because you seem more rational than most users on GaG in general and America in particular, it is only because of Trump's mandate that Putin was able to take these further expansionist steps. He took part of the Ukraine in 2014, and the Monroe Doctrine prevailed, with Obama leveling only sanctions (which was the global, but wrong choice) against. But since Trump got to power with Russian help and interference - sorry, that has already been established as a fact - there were no longer any checks and balances between the former superpowers.

Trump shifted attention to China - China is a dangerous country that violates Human Rights every day, that is not in question - and pretty much went the entire mandate stating Putin could do no wrong.

So now we're here, and you blame Joe Biden for those particular effects, which have far more reaching causes.

I mean, why not? The Senate gives minority states power, but the President is supposed to represent everyone, certainly not just 21%.

Imagine being a resident of the State of Rhode Island, Wyoming, or Maine without the Senate, OR the electoral college… NO presidential candidate would ever visit your state, or give a shit about your state, and the federal government wouldn't care about your state either! It would become the tyranny of the majority. Im so tired of people talking about “democracy” when the U. S. has NEVER been a democracy, we are a representative republic, and thank god we are! Imagine the entire population voting on every single law, every bureaucratic administrative issue, all voted on by the majority! Reintroduce slavery? Why not, there’s no way 12% of the population could do anything to stop it! Forget gay and trans rights, thats over when the majority gets to decide every issue! Which is precisely why every state has the same amount of power, in the senate.

No, but I recognize it's not always feasible to keep it up. In my country democracy is sacred... on paper, while the system is sustained by clientism and corruption. Every political side engages with it.
