Yes, unfortunately. There was one almost 3 years ago (will be 3 years in August) about a half hour from where I live. 9 people were killed and 27 were injured. The shooter was killed by police.
That is pretty scary. I'm glad to hear that you're fine. No, a mass shooting has never happened near me. At least not since I moved to the neighborhood.
Last year this Christmas parade in Waukesha, WI. Now this summer state fair is going to have all high tech security and you can only bring in ur ID and credit card.
You're more likely to die from getting shot than dying in a car accident in America. It is the land of the free: you are free to get shot, free to pay more for healthcare at a lower quality and free to pay more in taxes than Jeff Bezos.
In 2012, I was trapped in a police lockdown of a major shopping centre shooting in a busy food court, with seven victims:1 Male, dead3 Male, critical1 child, critical2 Female, serious

I was working at my job when a mass shooting took place less than a mile away
yikes. did you evacuate?
No.. didn’t know about it right away
The cops were on the scene right away and arrested him.
So what did you do? hide or anything? were there cops eventually?
No, I just continued on with my day.. a young gentleman I work with kept a gun in his man purse for awhile after that, lmao..
nice... so like you weren't scared at all?
I found out about it the same time I learned they caught him so no..
It’s a very good area with awesome cops.. it happened pretty fast

Depends on what you mean by near. But there was a school shooting in Oxford, Michigan which is under 50 Mi away.
Eh id say more like 15-20 miles

Parkland hit close only because the guy came into my town after committing it with the idea to do another one there.
Oh 42% of people on this site live in the US.
I've had two happen near me. But although they are obviously horrific events, chances are insanely low of ever being involved in one.
You got to be able to read the atmosphere.. any tense looking confrontations, gtfo
Yes at the landing on a day I planned 2 visit with my brothers. Only reason we didn't go is I got randomly sick
Sandy Hook happened not too far from me; in fact, in the same county that I happen to live in. :(
No, not exactly.
One happened in my city. I guess I was a mile away if that counts.

A mass shooting never happened nearby where I live
None of which I am aware. The only shootings I hear about are the occasional home invader who gets an unpleasant surprise from the owner.
Not that I’m aware of but plenty of terrorists acts near me since I’m only 30 miles from Manhattan
No never mass shootings. Just shootings from angry drivers or fights in bars.
Ah, good ole’ Brandywine. Watching a swat team come out of their truck.
A mass shooting, no thankfully. But we have had a lot of shootings this year due to a local gang war.
