Relationships are often thought to be the ideal destination where we all want to get and being single is rarely celebrated.

Yet, I think it’s amazing and definitely, worth celebrating!

It’s peaceful,

as you come home to yourself every day, and you feel at peace, not trying to please anyone but yourself,

It’s liberating,

In a way that, it teaches is how to deal with our lives totally alone and maybe for some people it feels sad, but in truth, it frees us from our fears, it makes us learn about our strengths, it frees us of the cage of being dependent on another human being for our strength and happiness,

It’s adventurous,

You can flirt with anyone you want,

You can go anywhere you want,

you can be anyone you want, without the fear of hurting someone, without the need to limit yourself to make someone else happy,

It gives us strength,

We are all alone in our lives,

some more, some less, but all in all, we are all we have got,

When obstacles happen in our lives, we can’t hope for another person to save us,

we learn that, we need to get up, we need to save ourselves, we need to take care of ourselves, we need to carry ourselves on our own shoulders, even if we are about to lose consciousness, we know we can’t, because we are all we’ve got.

And maybe some people might think, it’s lonely, yet I think it’s extremely useful and wonderful, as

We learn the biggest lesson of our lives:

You are your own hero and that’s how it should be.

And in the end, it makes us appreciate ourselves more,

when you know that this little body is all that you have got, you start taking care of it,

you treat yourself well,

you comfort yourself,

you start caring about yourself,

you start protecting yourself,

cheering yourself up,

motivating yourself,

having fun,

even if you are all alone

living a healthy life, because you have got to be strong,

yourself is all you’ve got and you need to make it strong and reliable,

because in the times of winds, when everyone else falls,

you’ll be standing,

because you’ve got yourself and that’s more than enough.

In the end, maybe you even become a better partner to yourself than you could ever dream of having.

And sometimes you want to thank yourself,

for finding happiness in little things,

and for being the best ever partner you have ever had.

You realize, not many people could make you feel happier than you can make yourself…
