Could someone please explain how Gaza Palestinians are "occupied" when not a single Israeli or Jew was in Gaza before Gaza attacked Israel?

Prior to the Palestinians in Gaza's surprise terrorist attack on Israel 10/7/2023 there wasn't a single Israeli or Jew in Gaza. Not one. The Palestinian Muslins to not allow Jews or Israelis to enter Gaza. But tens of thousands of Palestinians from Gaza enter Israel daily where they have jobs and can earn a living.

(unlike Israel where 20% of the population (2 million people) are Muslims, many of them Palestinian Muslims, with the same freedom and rights of every other Israeli)

So how was Israel "occupying" Palestinians in Gaza when they have zero presence there? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's one of the great mysteries of the Universe.

It would be the first occupation in history without any occupiers present.

true, israel withdrew all its people years ago. and this neighbor just acted like an enemy to israel year after year. gaza was not occupied and the suffering was due to bad hammas leadership there.

even now israel specified it does not want the land. just searching for the army to take back the hostages and find the leaders of hammas.
