Could a slow-moving tropical system threaten Florida and the Southeast soon?

American GFS model has been hinting at a Tropical Depression or possible named storm coming from the Central American Gyre over the next 7 to 10 days. Now I know forecasts beyond 5 days are not reliable, but just watch this. It's looking like a SLOW MOVER so potential for huge inland flooding from rainfall..

Obviously it will, because the same incompetent male brain that steers ships into rocks will steer this storm straight into our coastal mansions. Men invented hurricanes to drown out their own blathering, and honestly, I hope it washes their fragile egos out to sea with the rising tide.

it could. but we should not try to predict intensity.

All the models agree something is about to form, but they disagree on track and intensity, because it's still 6 days out or so.

I'm not trying to "predict intensity" but what the models are showing is probably no more than a 50mph weak Tropical Storm.

The problem won't be wind speed, it will be rains, because we are having flash flooding in louisiana and mississippi to begin with.
