Where were you when the World Trade Center was attacked?

Question

I was working at one of the big High Tech companies. When I heard about it I got a cart that had a television and a VCR that we used for training purposes and created an antenna out of paper clips and set it up in our training lab. In minutes there was about 50 people watching is disbelief.

I was in my classroom. We were facing the flag and saying our pladge allegiance. I was looking out from the classroom windows while doing that. My students were shorten than the windows so they couldn’t see as far as I was.
while reciting… I witness lots of smoke coming out from the first tower. I figured it was a fire (my school was far from the World Trade Center).
after that, we continued our lessons… soon I remembered to check the status.. I looked out… the first building was missing… I knew something very terrible happened… then the school classroom speaker came on… telling us that something happened and students will be picked up soon.
it was a very sad day for us.

I was 16. I was working an apprenticeship as an electrician. The house had large a tv that they didn't turn off. I walked past and say tower 1 on fire. Then the 2nd one hit and we knew it was a terror attack. 2 years later I was in iraq.

I was at work, in my office, in Western New York State, editing a document on my computer. Just after 9am, I got a phone call from a colleague in Belgium who told me about the World Trade Center attack. I let others in the office know about it, and we turned on the TV in the break room to see what was really going on. Everyone stopped working.

Our building was next to a local mosque, separated only by a small parking lot, and soon, several police cars arrived at the mosque. We later found out that there was a concern that the mosque might be attacked in retaliation, when it was announced that the attackers were most likely Muslims.

Around noon, management sent us home, concerned about the mosque and whether this attack might be the start of something bigger. They gave us the next few days off with pay, and I stayed at home with my wife and kids. Schools were closed for a few days.

Our house was under the flight path of planes approaching the local airport, and it was weird that we neither saw nor heard any planes, due to the complete shutdown of US air space for a few days.

at work and saw it on TV in the call center. It frankly, from what I saw, looked like a small plane hit it which didn't make sense because was clear outside. I recall the story of WWII where a plane ran into the tower.

I went back to work and later heard another plane hit and they came down. It was erie.

I recall telling some executives years prior... I wouldn't step foot in that building, it's got a marked X on it. Shocking to see I was right.

I hate to say it, we have this reality again, and other people enjoying life today, are going to pay the price of "the wages of sin is death" at some point. Only a matter of time.

I got up in the morning here on the west coast, and turned on my computer to check email as I got some coffee going. Looking down at the computer on the web browser was the current news and there was a huge fireball coming out of the side of what looked like the World Trade Center. I guess I had to pour my coffee first, and I came back and got the scoop on what had happened so far. I was in shock. E-mailed my best friend right away. Got ready for work and went in. The mood at work was certainly somber. People all around town looked somber. Some were crying.

After work I convened at a local "watering hole" to see what regulars would show up. There were a small handful of us showing up there after work. We went to a local restaurant just to share our thoughts about the whole thing. We were somewhat near an airport. One thing we noticed was there there were no planes in the sky. (Except one military plane.)

Are we talking about the 1993 Attack or the 2001 WTC Attack?

As for the 1993 World Trade Center attack I was in school at the time & most likely having lunch at that time. As for the 2001 World Trade Center attack I was sleeping at the time when a ringing phone woke me up informing me of what was going on.

I was working on the west coast and hadn’t left for the office yet. At that time, the ATC system was a DOS based dinosaur and we were anticipating it would completely fail. When I got the call the morning of 9/11, I was certain that is what happened… until I saw the second plane fly into the tower.

I was in bed sick and watching TV. I saw it happen from the very beginning that morning.

Since I saw it right when they started filming it, unfortunately I saw the uncut version of people jumping out of the buildings. I can still see those images in my mind.😔

I was home on vacation. I had gotten home from Florida and was planning to spend a few days recovering from the trip. I slept in. When i woke, i went downstairs to chill on the sofa. Turned on the TV to see all the hullabaloo about the first plane hitting the north tower. While watching live coverage, i saw the second plane hit the south tower live on television. It was absolutely shocking.

I was at school. I didn't find out until I got home what had happened. It's actually my birthday on that day, so we went to my mum's friend's house to pick up some presents, and I played with their kids as well.

When we got home, I saw it on the TV, but I thought the afternoon movie had over ran a bit, and the kids' shows would be on in a few minutes. I tried BBC1 and ITV1. I though they were both showing the same sick movie. In the end, I went to my room and watched Cartoon Network for a bit, before we went out for dinner.

For the actual impact, was probably in my crib or doing whatever else a baby does, blissfully unaware. I was less than 1. My mom told me I spent the rest of the day in the living room with her so she could watch the coverage.
