I care about Valentine's day

Valentine's Day is pointless if you aren't seeing someone, and also pointless if you are seeing someone because you shouldn't need an arbitrary holiday to make them feel special.
Fun fact though: Saint Valentine's Day has been celebrated at least as far back as the 14th century. Saint Valentine himself (a priest and physician in the Roman Empire in the 3rd century) allegedly wrote letters to the daughter of his jailor, signed "From your Valentine." He was also rumored to have carried out marriage ceremonies in secret on behalf of couples whos' families didn't approve of the union. For this reason, his holiday has always involved an exchange of greeting cards, and also been associated with lovers. Due to a lack of verifiable information about him however, the Roman Catholic Church removed his holiday from the calendar in 1969.00 Reply
+1 yValentine's Day is a f*cking lie. It's only been about heartache and loneliness.
When I was younger, my parents would force me to shower them with attention because they were a couple and wanted to feel special.
I fell for a boy who was born on Valentine's Day just to learn that he would later on be abusive towards me.
I spent last Valentine's Day mourning the loss of a relative early that morning.
I hate Valentine's Day and I wish it never existed. It puts an emphasis on couples and if you're single, it's like, "F you!"70 Reply
+1 yI mean, if people want to make a show of it, more power to them.
I don't really care, but I do a little. Does that make sense? The English language is slowly vacating my brain, I think.
I would be disappointed if my husband didn't want to spend personal time with me, but I don't care about going on a date or gifts or anything like that; just some more personal time than normal. Move schedules to make room for that, rather than the other way around.00 Reply

+1 yI’m single but I like to celebrate cause it’s a designated celebration date the world can relate to. I purchased 4 pizzas today because they had a huge discount at Pizza Hut, and I plan on freezing 2 of them and reheating them for consumption on Valentine’s Day.

00 ReplyBack in the day in elementary school we used to give everyone candy in the class, so I used to really look forward to it cause I loved and still do very much love candy. Mannnn, I used to rack up on that day lol. I’d be in class making trades n shit pick up candy that people didn’t want, I loved that day hahaha. It was like Halloween pt. 2 except you ain’t have to dress up.
Anyways, now all grown up I’ve never had a Valentines. Haven’t done anything on that day or weekend since elementary school lol. I’ve asked a few girls here and there throughout the years but was turned down. So yeah it’s just another day for me. Although it’s a great excuse for me to get an absurd amount of candy for myself :)10 ReplyI only give the gift to my family and call it a day. A few times I ask this girl I like to be my valentine time, She say yes. But kept avoiding me whenever I try to be romantic towards her. She tells me to stop harassing her, and leave her alone. I told her she was my valentine girlfriend and she declined it. She told me Valentine's Day is just a holiday to ask exchange gifts to the person you like. She said there is no love and romance during that holiday, so I just left her alone. There's no point of being someone's balance I'm up then I can't even show the love and just accept the gift not the love

+1 yIt's actually cringe because all these things done for valentines day are just so normal and could be done on any other day. people just want to be cool and show off their relationship sometimes and it probably hurts those people who are single and dont have anyone and dont need anyone yet seeing other couples feel even more lonelier
the world has changed so much. its mostly all just for the trends and to be accepted by the society10 Reply
+1 yFor the first seven or eight years of our relationship my girlfriend swore she didn't care for Valentine's day didn't want anything yada yada yada, a couple years ago I happened to see a post on FB, I rarely went on her page, and saw sitting by my mailbox looks like another year of nothing coming, I was really surprised , she normally was honest to the point of brutal. Well I am sharing this in case there are others as clueless as I was, don't believe her/him , Valentine's day shouldn't be ignored
00 ReplyI like valentines Day, its like an alarm clock to remember your loved ones. When I m singel, I give valentine card and present to my mom and I once wrote valentine cards to all my classmates, and till today tjey don't know it was me.
Now I also White valentine card to my boyfriend23 Reply- +1 y
I also used to give Valentine's Day cards to my classmates. It was platonic and non-discriminatory. Some of the guys thought it was gay lol. But I'm not gay at all.
I didn't do it after 6th grade, though.
+1 yI like Holidays and don't typically rebel against them. Many people DO rebel against them. I enjoy them. If I don't have anyone to spend a Holiday with- its not big deal, I celebrate and enjoy it just fine by myself. Valentines Day is an example; Im typcally single on Valentines day and I spent it with myself or other single friends.

I have few such friends; but I otherwise totally relate to this sentiment. I love using it as an excuse to change up the decor in my bedroom.
Ironically enough, I met one of my girlfriends at an "Anti-Valentines-Day" party. Basically a party to celebrate not giving a shit about Valentine's day.
I mean it was me and one other guy, and then like 10 girls. For a party protesting a romantic holiday, things sure got... heated.10 Reply
+1 yOn one hand, I don’t care. On the other hand, even though it’s a commercial holiday, it’s another holiday where it’s more apparent that you don’t have someone to share it with.
There’s a saying about single people saving money on Valentine’s Day… I joke about actually spending more money because of all the junk food to eat my feelings. 🤣00 Replysame. its just a bullshit day to promote commerce.
love should be everyday, not one day.
plus its a great manipulation tool for abusers to manipulate their victims with a "amazing" present which "must show they care!" on valentines.00 Reply
+1 yYeah, my partner and I don't celebrate it. Why celebrate your love on a specific day just because you were told to. We go on dates when we feel like getting out of the house together. Valentine's day is just a way to make money. It's too busy to go out on dates on Valentine's day.
00 ReplyTo be honest no I've never cared about valentines day because valentines day really never applied to me, why u asked because I'm 36 years old and been single my entire life and to be honest I was always okay with that, I guess I just could never picture myself in a relationship because I'm honestly not relationship material, so no I can't relate to most of u on valentines day, for most of u guys and girls it's a special day to show your love for each other, for me it's just another day like any other.

+1 yI don't care about it too. I noticed a lot of people buy some gifts on Valentine's day, go on a date etc.. For me: people in relationship should do it more often, not just coz of valentines day.
I would feel better if I got little gift/flowers or smth on random day (not valentines day).00 Reply
+1 yI don't think of it as "Valentine's Day"; to me it's "discount candy eve". Unlike Halloween, Valentine's candy tends to be more specialized and designed to evoke that specific image- more like Easter candy. Which means when the holiday is over, it goes DEEPLY on sale.
00 ReplyMy fiance and I don't care about celebrating the holiday on that exact day. Like we will buy each other roses and chocolates and stuff after vday just because companies, know that people will be celebrating it soon and hike the prices of everything. So in a nut shell my man can give me a rose and tell me he loves me anytime of the year, who cares if it is or isn't on Vday. I do believe that we should still remember and celebrate Saint Valentine.
10 ReplyI've been single for years so I am used to forgetting about it until I go to the store and notice the candies for sale and then I realize it passed.

+1 yEvery year I see so many "Man I don't care one bit about V-day" and some with an entire paragraph dedicated to as to why they do not care lol. If you really didn't care you wouldn't care to talk about it. And I don't get why we must verbalize not caring, some do some don't. It's not obligatory, I care if I have a girlfriend, if I'm single I don't have to care. Easy as that.
00 ReplyI think women should spend more money than a card to show they love you
Like come to your door nakec and say i am yours and if you dumped me afterwoulds. I would not go to the police and call it rape10 ReplyI have much going on in my life to the point where I'm not even thinking about that right now. Even if I was involved with a woman right now,... she wouldn't stick around and inevitably leave me anyways way before Valentine's day does come around.
10 ReplyNever 'celebrated' it even when I had a partner, we did something special the weekend before or after as Valentines Day itself has become to commercialised.

+1 yIt’s overrated I mean it’s your gonna be sweet to me on Valentines Day. What about the other 364 days? Beside it’s also the day of Saint Valentines Day Massacre.

Lucky you, everyone loves you on valentines day 🙃😗
+1 yI've been trying to help get "singles'ween" celebrated, so singles have their own side of the holiday to celebrate. It's essentially second Halloween for single people. That way they get to get out meet other single people, dress up, and have fun. Maybe even find someone or just hook up. 🤷♂️
00 ReplyI mean I do care up to a point. Like I don't care about the gifts and stuff like that but it can be a nice way to spend a nice time doing something special with your SO and heck even with your friends/family/platonic love interest/crush or your cat 🐈 ❤

+1 yIts not an important day unless you’re dating someone or in school and forced to watch people carrying around big stuffed animals. Other than that, its just another day
21 Reply- +1 y
But i dont see how you compare it to Christmas or Thanksgiving. Those days are meant to be spent with important fam. Vday is strictly for couples
+1 yWell, I don't care about it as a day. I still go with the flow and spoil my girlfriend. I see it like Christmas where you just go with the flow and get presents and spend time with loved ones. Only in this case it's just me and my girl.
00 ReplyIf someone loves me they can send me yummy chocolates. I will get mad because I need to exercise and eat healthy but I’ll be happy at the same time 😛 chocolate 🍫 yum! 🥰😋😛🥳😍!!!

+1 yMe and my partner don't really celebrate it much because its mostly a big waste of money, we don't need a specific day of the year to say we love eachother when we do that every day anyways lol

+1 yAm not celebrating it since am Single and even if am married or seeing someone I would still not celebrate it period. Me celebrating Valentine's day I would rather celebrate Halloween. @smahala1991
10 ReplyThis is my first year celebrating it.
Vday is on the same month as my anniversary, so he gets a mix of a vday and anniversary gift.
It also happens to be my bf’s birthday month, sooooo…lol 🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️00 ReplyYeah, I don't care about it. It's all about extracting cash from gullible suckers who think they have to spend big in order to impress their partner.
10 ReplyCatholics understand that Valentine (there may have been 2) martyred himself protecting love and marriage in ancient Rome. OK to think about that once a year.
10 ReplyNothing special about Christmas (a period when a Jew got put on a stick) or Thanksgiving (a period when White immigrants stole Native American land).
Valentines is special.00 ReplyIt's the same days 14 February, 15 February, 16 February...
But 29 February important! 😂10 ReplyWell Christmas and Thanksgiving is still special to me, each their own. But yes Valentines Day... I do wish for a valentine and I just don't know. I dislike it.

00 ReplyIt is like any other normal day. My family never celebrated it, so I don't like to celebrate it. My husband on the other hand loves to celebrate it.

+1 yGiven I'm perpetually single, same. I'd like a reason to celebrate, but that would require someone outside my family to actually care.

Can I ask you a question

@ManhattanMan1212 sure sup
- +1 y
Could you date a great man if he only has a average penis size
- +1 y
@ManhattanMan1212 I think you guys don’t understand what dating is. In the beginning I’m not gonna know if you have a certain size penis. We are just dating. If it goes any further such as sex then we are boyfriend and girlfriend
- +1 y
Would you be disappointed if he’s 6.5 inches long and 4.7 inches girth
- +1 y
@ManhattanMan1212 let me tell you this straight as long as it’s not a micropenis. It should be fine there’s a lot of men that have huge penises and don’t know what to do with it. There are dudes that have average sized penises and they work they know how to do things. Just learn how does a female feel when you’re having sex with her. The penis insecurity is the guys fault not mine
- +1 y
It’s also porn a size queens faults too
- +1 y
@ManhattanMan1212 no because porn is fake most of the time. Don’t blame porn stars for others inability to please their partner
Me me me, I don’t care about it and I always say that if someone really loves you everyday can be valentines day.

+1 yJust another day, granted one of the Rew days a year businesses use to slap it with a meaning to sell products and make money. The day means nothing to me and it means less as each year passes, granted this will be the last one I see.
00 Replyi think Valentine's day is very underrated
and we should celebrate romantic love
but people like Christmas more because of Jesus00 ReplyI care a little bit. I can say or receive a 'happy Valentine's day' and that's enough.
00 ReplyI’m single at the moment, and Valentine’s Day doesn’t mean a thing to me just an ordinary day.
00 ReplyAll three of them are equally not special as they are not Christ like and not in the bible.
00 ReplyYeah Idc that much about it either. Thanksgiving and Christmas are better.
04 Replywhat a nice normal day to cram your study session! 😀
20 ReplyThat assh@le at Margorie Stoneman Douglas ruined it for me. I was in Broward county when it happen with a daughter in high School. Just not that school, but it had a huge impact there.
