What was your feeling-story about wearing a thong for the first time at a public beach?

2 friend of mine are insisting to me to go to a public beach maybe at Mexico or something like that and take sunbathings wearing a thong, I usually wears thongs but never in public and I don't know how I gonna feel in the right moment or what to do, in fact I even have a thong bikini...
