My boyfriend lied about going to a party

He went to a party tonight and got drunk. He then got dropped off at my house so I asked him who did he drink with and he named 3 of his guy friends and that was it. Well some of his friends came over to my house. They were talking about how they all went to a party earlier and they including my boyfriend in the group that went. So I asked them questions and they were like "yeah it was a party." This isn't the only time my boyfriend has hid going to a party from me. I always tell him when I go to parties. And its no big deal that he went, its just that I feel like I have the right to be told that he's going to a party. Am I overreacting? Or should a boyfriend tell his girlfriend when he goes to a party?
