I met my friend's boyfriend at a get together and we instantly hit it off. He constantly flirts with me, and suggested a few times that we hang out. I don't think my friend knows about this, but we also talk on the phone. When we were talking one night, he told me that he is torn right now because he likes me and doesn't know what to do about it. What can I do to keep him from liking me, from flirting with me, and from hurting my friend?
Too late about him liking you, but about the flirting, just let him know you don't appreciate how he's doing your friend. Oh yeah I didn't mention that had already did your friend wrong, so if she finds out, she will be hurt. Just remember don't you start liking him, because that's when friendships end...
Tell him that you are off limits to him despite any feelings you both may have. That he needs to separate his feelings for you and his feelings for your friend. Then he needs to figure out what to do about your friend, his girlfriend - without you in the picture.
Do not be receptive to his flirting...don't giggle, don't smile, don't lead him on. He'll stop.
