What to do when a date asks for a rain check?

Here is the situation. Right before I was going to go out with a girl, she called me said she did not feel well and asked for a "rain check". I told her sure no problem just give me a call when you would like to go out.

Was this her way of trying to be nice and letting me down easy or was her excuse legit? If it was legit should I wait for her to call as I requested or is it up to me to contact her?

The thing is did she suggest another day, ie if I can't see my girl today for whatever reason I would say "baby I can't see you today, how about tomorrow..."

Remember you said "you give me a call when you would like to go out..." so by calling her you risk appearing like a needy guy which is even worse...

Now imagine if she did stood you up, then you called again to organise another disappointment, now who is the whimp...

If she was genuinely ill, then she'll ring to apologise, afterall she kinda stood you up.

If she didn't suggest another day then forget about her, afterall she agreed to meet you on this day.

Either way don't call her until she contacts you first...

If it was legit, she'll call you. Don't call her. If it wasn't, she won't call you. If it was legit and she doesn't call you, walk away anyways.

her excuse is legit, you don't need to worry. she wouldn't be asking for a rain check if it wasnt. wait for a day or two, and if she doesn't call call her

  I think you may be right and her excuse is probably legit but here is another question for you. This girl has never called me on her own (as in not without me making the initial contact). She's a shy girl but at some point doesn't she have to make some effort? So I think I'll wait for her to get in touch with me knowing it may never happen. Is this a stupid idea?

  That's VERY stupid. sometimes shy girls are especially careful. she might think she will seem clingy or desperate, even though that's not true. call her! you will give her the wrong idea!

  I'll consider the notion of calling her. I like her and all I just find it kind of fishy. If she really wanted to see me, she should call. We've been out 5-6 times but the last month she's been busy and things never line up schedule wise. I not sure if it's true or if she's just too nice to say she doesn't want to see me anymore. Anyway after this info if you still think I should call I'll give it one last shot :)
