so I really like this girl, I've known her since high school and I was too much of an idiot to realize that I cared so much about her then but she's really been on my mind lately and we keep in touch now and then but I really want to ask her out but I'm afraid of her saying no and ruining our friendship, what do I do?
I'm in the exact same situation, so I'm gonna give you the advice I'm too much of a wimp to take myself:
Be honest with her. Tell her you like her, but also mention that it's perfectly fine if she doesn't like you back. You'll live and you can get on with your lives, and still be friends. And that's the worst-case scenario of asking her out.
