My girlfriend heard about a few girls I was seeing before we went out. She swears I slept with them, but I know differently because nothing ever happened sexually. Even though this happened before our relationship she still tells me she does not trust me. She is a very attractive 38 year old woman, and I've been told we make a great looking couple. I am 38 myself and we have been dating a year now. So how do I handle this? It seems like we can't move forward in our relationship if she can't get past this.
Ok I am going to be straight up with you.. meaning no sugar coating here.. your gut instinct is telling you that "You can't move forward in y'alls relationship if she can't get past this." Well I say go with that. What would be a GRATE thing is to tell her that since she believes the trust in your relationship is gone then you be the bigger man and end it! Because trust when your in a relationship is huge, and when that TRUST is gone from ether the girl or guy well you have nothing to build on. You have said she has accused you of cheating before....So I gotta tell you there are so many other woman out there who want a drama free relationship. So I type here today to tell you....DUDE you DON'T need this drama in your life, sounds like your girlfriend has some issues she needs to deal with on her own with a shrink.... with out your help. Trust me once you END things with her she will soon realize that she had a grate thing with you. And when that happens you have got to be the bigger man to say (and mean it when you do say this) "I have moved on to a drama free relationship."
Why should you have to prove yourself? This happened before you were together anyways. If she loved you it doesn't matter what happened in your past. It's now that counts.
It sounds like your girlfriend needs to grow up. She's 38? What happened before your relationship with her is none of her business. If she's upset about things that happened before your relationship, imagine her reaction to other things.
